will not be active for the next few days, cat got runover.

hey guys, just figured I'd let ya know that I will not be on the forums for the next 4 days or so. My cat got hit by a car and survived, she however has a very severe concussion and is on anti-inflammatory, pain killer's, and antibiotics. She was hit yesterday and I spent all last night watching her to make sure it wasn't worsening. right now its hard to tell if she is gonna be the same cat when she's recovered.

 

Awww.. Poor cat :( I hope she makes a full recovery

 

Oh, I'm really sorry about that, it sounds bad.

She's getting better, slowly. She has absolutely no balance still and that is worrying, because it might mean her equilibrium is shot, and if it is, it may be permanent. No the person who hit her didn't stop, what happened was a person walked up to our door and said she saw a cat laying on the side of the road, so we don't know how long she was out there covered in blood and freezing. But she is eating now, still hasn't used the washroom and that scares me because its been 5 days now, and if she doesn't clean her system out she can die from having it sit in her for to long (large intestine absorbing the bacteria waste from the poo and basically poisoning her, ya gross and horrible way to go). Her face is pretty cut up, but its healing, and right now she loves attention even though she's not all there in the head right now.

 

Damn, I feel so sad for you cat. Hope your cat will be okay!

It is very sad that your cat got hit by a car, and I hope she gets better. But Pyro, what if the person didn't see the cat....

 

You know the *thump* that comes when you hit something? That's how...

 

Well, the car was probably going at least 30-40 mph, so it's a little hard to just instantly stop. I know if they did hear a "Thump", they should've stopped. But I have a hard time believing that anyone would be that mean and ignorant.

 

Still, most people would get out and see what they hit. An ass hole would get out only to see if his car was damaged in any way. And its not that hard to stop at that speed. A train, yes. Car, no.
