New chat system.

I don't want to put this in suggestion area because idk how long it will take for them to see.

Is a 100 block proximity chat really the best way you can think of? Seriously, try something like you cannot say the same thing twice, it will definitely reduce spam, worked perfectly on other servers.

100 blocks? Thats only just enough for people to communicate in their own islands. Maybe with their neighbours a little. I don't even have any alive neighbours.

Adding a way to toggle on or off... How is that gonna help? Many people will still not see the chat. Skyblock on the server is fun because people can make shop and trade. Now it's 80% like single play. Except you get a /warp shop and server lags.

In case you didn't see. My post here is mainly about telling them to implement something like you can't say the same thing twice.

 

If you don't like the 100 block limit, you can turn it off and have back global chat.

This is not just for you but the thing is that you guys complain about spam and now J&H added a solution for you guys but you guys still complain about it. Just deal with it.

 

No offence, this is a really lazy solution for spam. As I said, toggling it to global chat can't help if half of the server wont see your chat. I don't know if you play skyblock or not, but at least for my time zones, I rarely see over 50 online players on each server recently, most of the time under 30.

I don't know why no one reads it, I am actually offering another solution here. What if you can't say the same thing twice? It make spamming a lot harder while people can still ask for shops or advertise their shops. Hypixel server and many other big servers use it. I think it will be a way better solution.

I'm really sick of people misreading now. Did you read before you reply? Clearly I used hypixel for as an example, it's not just hypixel that is doing the no same chat thing. I really don't get how you thought that I meant itsjerryandharry is hypixel.

 

It means that this server wants to be as original as it can, so it wouldn't be easily copying Hypixel.

 

If it's a toggle thing then there still will be people not getting any info from people advertising shops. I don't have a shop or skin comp or anything, but think for the people that do have shops. What they'll think if they have less costumers? And say you are trying to buy something. /warp shop have many rip offs. When you ask in chat who sells xxx cheap. Some people might not see it.

The no same chat twice thing on hypixel do let's you talk if you add something to it. But there are plugins for you to not able to talk as long as the first couple of word are the exact same.

 

People will always find ways around those kinds of plugins. The toggle is most likely proximity chat to global chat, and it'll come later today. People who'd want to buy from shops or want to participate in skin comps can toggle it or go to spawn. Easy as that.

 

Proximity chat ain't original many servers use it. No same chat twice is also used by many servers. Please read clearly before you reply, i only used hypixel as an example. If no same chat twice is a better solution why wouldn't they use it?

 

If someone toggles chat off, it probably means they want shop advertisers to shut up.

Name a few ways to get around? The only way I can find is by having two chat msg ready and rotate them over and over. But that will be very slow to perform and not count as a spam anymore. Seriously this way can reduce lag by a lot. If you do rarely see a hardcore spammer, just go report. And you still didnt get my point. My point is that there will still be people not seeing the chat msges which will be hard for selling and buying.

How did you take it as i was saying this server should copy hypixel then?

 

For example> Person1: Tp to me for cheap shop
He types the same thing again, and recieves *message about that*
Sooner/Later...
Person1: Tpa to me for cheap shop
Person1: Tport to me for cheap shop
--etc.--

Not seeing chat messages will be hard for selling and buying, yes, that's a bad thing.
What I'm trying to say is that you can always go to spawn, look for the guys advertising their shops, and teleport there.

Your example is quite hard to understand. Can I take it as that they can just change the first word to keep advertising? I believe we all know how slow that is.

And seriously? Log into Skyblock right now, see how many people in spawn. I counted 3. And you have to go back and forth repeatedly? That is really BS.
