The "Post a picture of yourself" Thread

So many people have already talked about this in the thread. I just wanted too take it into deeper discussion because it is starting to make a lot of arguments. So the Post a picture of yourself thread is one of the most viewed thread on the forums, and it has many posts on it.

My first problem with this thread is it is being over used. Like many people on that thread said that they are tired of seeing the same people post a picture of themselves, this thread is being used by the same people over and over again. One of the reasons why these people keep posting pictures of themselves repeatedly is because the tremendous amount of likes that it gives you, I understand that these people want more likes because let's be honest most people want likes. Some people even go on the internet and use someone else's picture and says that it is them, 1. They are doing this for attention, and 2. They are doing this for likes. I am NOT saying that you should stop liking peoples pictures, or stop posting on there, what I am saying is; yes we have seen you before, but that doesn't mean you should keep repeatedly posting a picture of yourself every week.

My second problem with this thread is some people have a forums account just to post pictures of themselves on there. They aren't using their account as a proper forums account, they are using the same thread over and over again and posting a picture of themselves every week or so.

My third but last problem with this thread is the amount of arguments that are on there. It's called Post a picture of yourself, not "Let's argue over the stupidest thing ever" If you want to argue with someone then go ahead, do it in private chat. Don't continuously argue with the other person on the thread. People really do not care about your disagreement with this other user, and it's completely useless.

I'm sorry if this is a long thread, I just wanted to get this off my chest. It might seem like I am mini-modding or whatever but I am just stating my opinion. You can stat your opinion too, just please no argument.

 

So if people want to show there faces what's the issue and getting likes oh well it doesn't mean anything at all one or ten likes still the same thing it's just a number honestly, people do that becuse they've nothing else fun to do, and the post there, and getting attention isn't the thing most people are after its to see others people opinions about them as they can think omg I'm so ugly while they aren't and that thread can show that easly.

Locking it really worth it, it's like we should lock the staff interruption should we? No we shouldn't still the exact same only with pictures and the other one is numbers.

 

If someone wants to post a picture of them self I don't see anything wrong with it.
Complaining really isn't making it better.

 

I don't really understand why this is a big problem?? Like I posted on it a few times because I enjoy taking selfies??? And sharing them.. I really don't get why everyone's making a deal of it- if you don't wanna see the same face, simply don't click on the thread.

I mean, it saves a millions of threads being made for a face reveal.

 

The only problem I find with it is that people are just posting random shit and then calling it "themselves."
I also really hate it when people say that they're ugly, even though they're clearly not.

i def get what youre saying and i can see why u feel this way but, to mee, i like seeing faces.
now of course i would never turn down pictures of someone new, but if people who already posted want to post another one bc they are confident with how they look in it or they just wanna share a happy moment of theirs, then encourage their confidence& happiness, and yeah good for them ...,not everything is about likes lol

only thing i just don't really like is when people turn a picture based thread into a "write irrelevant, off topic stuff that fills up a whole page" type of thread yanno (:

I wasn't expecting a lot of people to actually relate to it. I wasn't totally complaining. I was just really bored. I'm such a stalker, that's one of the first places I check in the morning when logging on. It was more of a notice letting users know that I'm not going to like every picture on that thread anymore to *hopefully* slow down some user's use of it.

I didn't read all of your post because I hate reading, but I see your point of view.

Now, I'm actually kinda sighing at the posts in this thread.

Complaining is going to make it better for him. It's not like he's just shown his view and locked the thread so no one gets to have a say. He's put it in general discussion for a reason - to discuss it.

A main "problem" I have with that thread is the amount of text-posts. Yeah seeing the same faces over and over can be annoying, but that's just how I feel. I would like the thread to have more of a mix, but we've gone through so many pages and stuff that there isn't going to be a lot more interesting or new things happening besides possible arguments anymore.

One issue that I've stumbled across that isn't too common is when people google image search people's pictures to prove that pic isn't of them. I don't like this 'police-ing.' It's basically like the whole 'you've already posted a pic like every second day and it's annoying' situation. The 'police-ing' should stop and if you don't like it, don't leave a like. But, it shouldn't be reportable either because technically they are participating in the topic of the thread. In many threads, I give sarcastic responses but they still link to the topic in some way.

Also, some people show themselves as goats because they don't want to show an actual pic of themselves for privacy but want to express they resemble a goat? Lmao.

Complaining leads to arguments and fights.

This is kind of true. People are using this thread just to get likes sadly :(. But this thread is a replacement for millions of 'face reveal threads'. So I guess it is just substituting it?

 

Personally, I see no problem with posting frequently. Taking selfies is fun to do, well for me anyways. I see where you're coming from when you say complaining occurs, but that happens on half of the threads created, it's just a part of life. Some people do like getting likes, even though likes have no value, besides getting on the "notable members" list, which is not really viewed alot anyways. I've posted atleast 2 times on the thread, and I plan on posting again. I enjoy seeing new photos of my friends. If you are angry with people posting more than once, you can just prevent yourself from clicking on the thread, it's easy. I really think that the thread is enjoyed by this community, as I enjoy it.

Stupid people who are confident to post pictures of themselves and people liking it because they want to. I bet they even feel good about themselves when many people reply and tell them they are attractive and look nice. I mean, can you believe these people?
And people that post false pictures of themselves as jokes or don't feel comfortable in posting pictures of themselves.
Disgusting if you ask me.
So please, anyone who feels uncomfortable to post pictures of yourself, don't want to post pictures or doesn't look at the thread and doesn't care about the thread, please post a picture of your face, so you bore less people. Thanks!

Edit: This thread is literally about that some of you are butt hurt that you've stalked a thread so much, that you are tired of seeing the same stuff, since you stalk it so often. Let that sit with you and now make your post.

 

This is kind of true. People are using this to get likes. All the people we've seen already. What about all the people we haven't seen? I think it's their turn to post. I'm not forcing you, but it's your time to shine.

On the other hand, there is security issues with posting your picture. I'm also tired of seeing a page full of "omg so cute" or "Adorable :3" I want to see the pictures, that's why it isn't useless. People are curious.

I don't post pictures for likes. I just feel like posting. But yes, people do show there faces for likes.

 

there are a couple people who only have 8 posts and 100+ likes just from posting picture of themselves tbh. They didn't even say a word nonetheless I don't even think they know who jerryandharry even are. Those people aren't using their forums account properly, if you were to use it properly etc, then you would be helping the community and talking to eachother and debating appropriately about certain topics. That's using a account properly. Creating one just to post pictures really isn't proper.


Tldr: there is proper ways to use it and not to use it
