    This is insane. I never knew American Politics could be this crazy. Sometimes I'm happy to be British and I'm usually not coz we dun have tacobell. BUT this thread makes me happy and TBH I wish all religions Christian, Muslim, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism ALL OF THEM didnt exist and this is coming from a Christian. Its just my opinion. We all have our own.

    Donald Trump is inexperienced when it comes to politics. He spits out what stupid idea comes to mind and promises that he'll make it happen when he becomes president. I myself think he's messed up in the head.

    The difference between then and now is that back then, politicians actually ran for the interests of people. They addresses problems and made the U.S. a better place (sorry Trump, you can't do what they did). Politicians now are just spewing out shit to get the popular vote. We've come to the point where we are seeing people who didn't do much politics before now run for president, even fucking Kanye is running in 2020. Of these things continue, the U.S. will start crumbling rapidly. There's barely any politicians actually concerned about universal problems. People like Abraham Lincoln and JFK were revolutionary people, they made a difference, and progressed our country, we need more people like them. Abraham Lincoln addressed in his Gettysburg Address, that the "government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth." Politicians today, like Trump, seem to be breaking Lincoln's address. Hardworking leaders like Lincoln did not die for our country to see it run by hooligans.

    Even if people support this, it is impossible to ban Muslims. The US was built upon Thomas Jefferson's quote "All men are created equal". It would mean breaking the foundations of our country to ban a group of people entering the US.

    If you mean going against the Constitution and the first amendment it is actually totally legal to pass this law as Muslims from outside the US dont actually get constitutional rights. So the quote should be more like "All american citizens are created equal" if it were explaining the legal basis of the country.

    And when are the major mass shootings in America not done by a white late-teenaged to adult male? I'm aware not all are, but a lot are. Does that mean we should ban all white males from the ages of 15-50 from the country?

    If you want an example outside the country, take the Holocaust. We aren't blaming that on every single German.

    Also, these terrorist groups enter whether legal or not and they do what they want because I'm pretty sure these bombings they've been doing isn't legal either. So how is banning all Muslims going to keep them out? If anything, it could attract them more and it is just going to harm the (peaceful) Muslims who want to (legally) immigrate to America for a good purpose.

    Also, do you know the first thing about being Islamic??? It's a religion. It has moral standards, like any other religion and things that make it diverse, like ANY OTHER RELIGION. Oh also, surprise, it doesn't say to be a terrorist and bomb the white people in their holy books. If anything, I'd say it goes against it.

You can't stereotype terrorism into this idea of Muslims bombing us because of the 9/11 incident or the Paris thing because that is 2 major situations in over the past decade that America recognizes. A terrorist is someone who (by definition) terrorizes the people for a political aim or pursuit. Nowhere in that definition mentions a specific race or religion.

    Also, stop being so close minded and ignorant, as if America is the only nation being attacked by terrorist groups. And these terrorist groups aren't all Muslim.     Another thing, the political pursuits of these people are because of their PERSONAL interpretation of their holy books, even if they aren't right. Most Muslims aren't like that. People just pick out parts of the things they want to read or want to see and manipulate the meaning. For example, Christian homophobes. Not all people who are Christian are homophobes, but those who are just decide to pick out that particular section of the bible and use it to validate their belief. There are many Christians who are LGBT+ or an ally but they gained that reputation of homophobia because of a group of them being homophobic.

    We don't have reason to ban either groups. Muslims are not terrorists. People who are Muslim can be terrorists, but people who are Jewish and Christian can be as well. Terrorism isn't defined by religion

    Maybe thats how you think the quote should be, but since when is your interpretation valid? You aren't a proffessional politician or a judge or lawyer. So that's how you think it should be, but it's not. And actually, it is unconstitutional. It is religious discrimination, banning freedom of religion (whether they are an American citizen or not) and violates their due process rights (right to trial).

    With that being said, since we have already determined that it is unconstitutional, how would
    Trump actually pass this as an amendment or a legitimate law? All laws have a long process (bill to law, theres a song) and it involves voting among the Legislative branch and interpretatiom by the Judicial. The only way he can pass this law (and his many other unconstitutional ideas) is executive orders and if he abuses his power, primarily by making specifically executive orders, the president can be impeached. Even the president has his limits.

    Muslims don't aren't 11% of the U.S. population. There are 317 million people who live in the U.S., of which 13 million are Muslims. 1% of the population is 3.17 million, so it's only approximately 4%. Sorry if it seems that I'm nitpicking, but I'm just bored right now.
