The Electoral college was designed before modern day communications. This was before electronic anything. The most efficent way to elect a president was for each state to vote on who there representatives will have to pick, instead of a national poll. The states with more population would have more reps, to accommodate the fact that they have more people. In other words New York should recive more voting delegates then Iowa sense New York has WAY more people. The whole Electoral college system in my opinion is obsolete, now that poll results are delivered instantly.
I'm just going to leave this here. What I think you said is disrespectful to the faith I believe in. Not all Muslims are terrorists, we don't even believe in terrorism in the first place. just because a stupid terrorist group that think that they're doing the right thing doesn't mean we're all doing it. They're doing the wrong thing. When I made that thread about people coming out as bi on the forums, I know what I did was wrong, and I apologized for my actions. What you said was, in my opinion, just plain ignorant.
Sorry didn't realize that saying some Muslims are terrorist is the same thing as saying all Muslims are terrorist....
I disagree with this. Let me use the Christan faith as an example. Im christan. While we dont have ISIS, we have plenty of terrorist groups, or radicals. For one when the Americas were first explored we used Christanity as an excuse to exploit people. Modern day, we have the Lords Resistance Army. Ive already mentioned them in this thread. In a non-terrorist group we have the Westburro Baptist Church, who believe the world is doomed because we allow homosexuality. So Christanity has had its fair share of radicals, and most christans are not proud of any of these groups. However they are a part of Christanity, so that is something we have to take with a grain of salt. The same can be applied with Islam. The actions of radicals do not represent the entire religion. However, they are still part of the religion. One of the things about Islam, according to my world studies teacher so he might be wrong, is that, like Christanity, the teachings are up to interpretation, some people take it more literally. That's typically how you get radicals that differ from the normal.
I was mainly referring to terrorist groups such as Taliban and Al-Quaeda. The leaders do not follow religion, but they use Islam to rally up people. While there may be many small terrorist groups that are religious, the ones I was referring to terrorize us because of the first invasion of Afghanistan. When the Soviets invaded, the U.S. funded local militia, and supplied them weapons. This was a giant mistake, as the U.S. abandoned the Middle East after the invasion, the locals were left to fend for themselves, this resulted into hatred against Western countries, and they had weapons to use against us. People, such as Bin Laden, wanted to destroy countries like US, and in order to rally up people for his cause, he used religion as an excuse for fighting, and people believed him. The "grunts" of these terrorist groups may be fanatics, but the leaders aren't. The fanatics are just people brainwashed since birth, hearing things like "God chose you to kill western people" or "you must kill everyone with a suicide bomb in order to go to heaven." Children start believing these things, since it's the only thing they're subject to. The leaders know that this is all false, and is a method to rally up people.
Well they say and believe they are Muslims and follow some of the teachings so its not like you can say they aren't part of your group just because they are bad. As MC_Scout said there are bad Christians in history like the KKK and west borough Baptist church but I don't really find it "ignorant" for someone to say some christians are bad when clearly SOME are.....
People who commit bad things that think they're doing good for their ethnic group means that they're radicals, they aren't really in any religion.
When Donald trump says "Make America great again". American was never great before, maybe its military yes. But there is far better countries out there. ( no offensive to Americans) Just look at the gun crime statistics.
Exactly. Why should we ban Muslims, but not Christians or Jews or any other religion? I think that fits in discrimination and racism, which brings me to your first point: "Trump has never been racist @ all!!1" Got anything else to say?
The funny thing is when you ban Muslims to not let terrorists in ISIS and other terrorist groups will try to get more Christian and Jewish recruits. And if they get enough recruits Donald Trump should ban his own religion to keep America save. (Logic amirite)
Yea, and from my searches Some stuff like illegal sex and other legit coco shit = you out of Islam Not all bad things, sorry
last Time I checked the KKK aren't blowing up buildings or beheading people. In fact I really haven't heard of a major active terrorist group right now that isn't Muslim
