If you know even the tiniest bit of French, you know what the thread title means. Goodbye. I am done with these forums, and possibly the server if I can cut my HC addiction... I left a few months ago because I got bored of the server and forums, but now I'm leaving because of what our community has become. I have had this thought for a while, but a recent thread has finally opened my eyes fully. This community is just...just so damn awful. The spammers are high in number, decent people are low in number, people are just rude, and staff seldom truly intervenes to solve problems. I have seen so few, not even staff, do a thing to fix this community and return it back to it's previous glory. This community used to be like the Gryffindor colored beanie that I wear almost every day. Bright, vibrant, comfortable to be in, and tightly knit. It was a place of joy and fun, that I wanted to be in and help. I still do want to help, but I don't know what to do. These days, this dismal place is more like gray dryer lint. Fuzzy and unclear, crumbling, and odd feeling. With the problems here being so obvious and so few doing s**t to fix them, it...just irks me, to say the least. Before I go on, I want to thank everyone who's actually decent here. You are the people that this community needs more of, and are the reason I've stayed as long as I have. Keep up the good work, is all I can say. Here's my proposal. I will stay here, less active than I was, merely observing. Observing to see any smidgeon of improvement. I will wait for a few weeks, maybe longer, and if things stay the same or get worse, this will certainly be the last you see of me. If you have the capability to change for the better, just a bit, then I will gladly return. How can this place change? I have a few ideas: - Think before you post Spamming and being rude to people will get you nowhere in life. Think about what you're typing, and if you think it will upset people then have the common sense not to say it. - Be nice to people People here can be so rude, obnoxious and dumb that sometimes they make Paris Hilton look like a saint who has never bought a child slave from a third world country. That's really saying something. Learn to be kind to others, and they'll be kind to you. Is it so hard to be nice? - Follow and respect rules If people don't learn to follow the rules of this forum, things will only get worse. If the rules were stricter and better enforced, maybe we'd be getting somewhere. Again, some people here are good, great even. You know who you are, and each get a free blueberry muffin. Sadly, they aren't the majority, which bugs me. If people can find a way to reform themselves and this community, then I might give out more muffins in the future. There's still hope for things to get better here. Lastly, if you reply to this thread saying "smeg ur such a nub ur leaving you arnt doin anyting to halp out", then you are partially right. I'm mainly leaving for a while just to better understand why this community is so bad and to think of more specific ways to help it. Think of it as a study period, a spectation if you will. But at the same time, you didn't listen to a word I said earlier, defied and denied its meaning, and belong to the group that will receive no muffins.
