Hello. This is another story :D
This is a sequel to Bargaining, which was a sequel to Anger, which was a sequel to Denial. Let's get started! I've been raring to get it started in here.
    Characters: @???

    Chapter 1: ANewFriend
I woke up standing in a white room in white clothes. White desks, white shirts, white pants, white floors, white walls, white flowers, and everything was just white. I felt a little dazed like I haven’t fell 500 meters before. It was a bit hard to get used to my eyes. I haven’t felt anything but glasses on my ears and nose, however, I could see perfectly fine without the glasses I used in Bashon.
“Kr- Kryokin?” I heard coming from the doorway. A woman standing in clothes similar to nala’s was at the doorway. “Isn’t that your name?”
I stood still and silent. “Well then,” she said, “please come this way. They said you were a bit unstabl-“ Just then, a loud shrieking sound coming from the woman’s mouth pierced my ears. I covered my ears as I fell to the floor, not before the sound knocked me out. “Oh, what pity shall I put on this tortured one’s soul?”

Instantaneously, I woke up in a sandy and windy area. Sand got in my eyes as I looked around for any sign of life. I luckily found a cave in the near distance and I ran for it. In record time, I got to the cave and took shelter while figuring out the position I was in. The cave felt just like it was: a cave. It was pretty roomy with a puddle in the corner and the stalagmites and stalagtites in the other. There was a dark tunnel to who knows where, but I decided to sit on a rock. Water dripped off of the ones that hung on the ceiling. (I could never tell which was which.) I searched my pockets for a clue like always, and as always, there was something in my pocket. It was a box with index cards in it. On each card, there was a day and a journal entry that I wrote previously. I could still remember everything that happened in Denpe, Alem, and Bashon, as well as that weird lady thing, but it was a bit foggy. When I wanted to start reading the entries, I heard a loud explosion coming from the passageway. There was an eerie red light that came from the dark tunnel, so I decided to follow it. Feeling my way deeper through the cave, the light got a bit brighter and a bit brighter, just so I could see. When the path of the cave became linear, I could see things in the distance. They looked like tall structures, like Twage’s castle. When I got to the end of the tunnel, there was a big, widespread space with what looked like a city. The tunnel was elevated off the ground of the city, but a ramp of sand allowed me to climb down. At first glance, the buildings looked like they’ve been painted that golden sand color, but at a closer look, the buildings were sand. I touched a stone slab and it disintegrated into a mount of sand. All the while, the red light shone throughout the district. I felt like I was going to faint when I touched it. I tried reducing exposure to the light by using the buildings to shield the light from the source. As I wandered about the sand town, I saw a flash of an image. I repeatedly took double takes because I thought something, or someone, was there. It turns out there was, as I found out while walking by the cave wall.
I felt a rush of wind as a hand grabbed my right shoulder and pushed me against the wall. “Who are you?” In the red light, the figure was in a dark brown cloak with athletic tape all around the cloak as it concealed the wrists and hands, and by the figure’s voice, the figure had a masculine and deep tone.
    “Uh uh uh.”
“Well, uh uh uh, what are you doing here?”
“I’m-“ I should’ve said Kono, but I was more confused than ever. Was that really my name? “I’m Kryokin. I- I stumbled upon this cave because of the sandstorms outside. I meant to only take refuge, but I got curious when I saw a red light.”
“A red light, ehh? You should’ve been dead by now. I guess I’ll have to explain myself. Why don’t you come with me to my place? I’ll give you some things as well as a request.” The figure held out his hand.
I was confused. I was supposed to be dead? Well, that didn’t really surprise me after dodging the bullet three times. I decided to take the figure’s hand and they held tight to my hand as they ran towards the other wall of the cave. I was dragged with the figure and I knew we were done for when I saw the figure’s body slam against the cave wall, but instead, we went through the cave wall.
    “What just happened?” I asked.
“Cloaking tech. I’ve yet to figure it out,” he said, “make yourself at home.”
The little room we were in had a small stove, a bunk bed, and a small table. It looked like a little alcove that jutted out from the main room. After getting a good look at the figure, I was certain that the figure was a dude.
“Nice place you got here.” I said as I took off my sand-blasted jacket and hung it on a chair.
“Thanks,” he said. “I’m sorry. I wasn’t expecting guests,” he said, “want some tea?”
    “Uhh sure?” I replied.
“What kind? Green? Oolong? Black? Earl grey?”
Surprised by the selection, I replied, “Surprise me.” He took some leaves from a drawer near the stove and did something with them. I couldn’t see, but after a few seconds, he grabbed two teacups and they somehow filled themselves with tea. He brought them to the table and he put one of the teacups in front of me.
“What’cha waiting for?” he said, “There’s no cyanide in it. I promise.”
I took a sip and it was a bit bitter, but the aftertaste was a bit sweet.
“Anyway, let’s get down to business. I have the right fit of clothes for you. Well, at least I hope they fit. Tomorrow, I want you to find something for me.”
    “What do you need?”
“I need you to find a town for me. Listen, I’ve been running low on supplies recently, so I need someone to trek through that desert for me. Your resistance is that of me in this cloak, so you can make it to Dupo.”
    “Dupo?” I asked.
“Yes. It’s a port town so I know you’ll get the things I need. I’m a researcher, but I’m also a sorcerer. I’ll give you the things you need for communication and travel.”
I took another sip of the tea. “Alright. I’ll help you. You remind me of someone, but I’m not sure where that person or any of my friends are.”
“Ahh don’t worry, young lad. I’ll help you after you help me.”
“Ok. Deal, I’ll stay here for the night and embark tomorrow.”
“Excellent. Most excellent, indeed. One more thing. I want you to help me look for something out there.” he said as he pointed to the illusion cave wall.
"Oh alright. What is it?" I asked.
"I need you to come with me to the Cortex. I'll explain later. Just stay put here for now and I'll get some supplies from my bunker," he said. He phased through the wall but peeked his head out for one more thing. "Why don't you get some rest?" he offered, "The name's Sioux, by the way: El Sioux. It's really nice to see a friendly face around here. I haven't seen one in a long time." He left through the wall again. I took the bottom bunk and flipped through the cards, but I thought of something strange that afternoon. I couldn't remember my friends' names; only images as I flipped through them. Where there were names before, there were just blank spaces.

Thanks for reading! I really wanted to put a lot into this first chapter. In terms of characters, @LouiseXminerX , @nala, @Xeno, and @TwageTomato have signed up. Of course!
I don't want to have to make people wait for 2 weeks for a new chapter, but I try to pump as I can :P

    Chapter 2: TheCortex
Sioux came into the alcove with a cloak and goggles. “Put these on,” he said.
    “What are these?” I asked.
“This is what’ll protect you from the light. This place isn’t natural. I’ve been thinking about what caused this place to shrivel up like this, and I’m thinking it’s this,” he said. He pulled me out of the alcove and pointed towards the source of the light. I couldn’t see it because it was too intense. I put on the goggles and they were extremely tinted. I saw the source of the light and it came from a crystal as big as one of the sand buildings.
    “Wha- how?”
“That’s what I’m trying to figure out. Put on the cloak. I don’t want to get you hurt, but you seem to have a resistance against the light,” he said, “That, is the Cortex.”
“Have you ventured that far?” I asked while strapping on the cloak.
“Well, the last time I did that, it didn’t go so well,” he lifted up his cloak to reveal that his left leg was metal. “Anyway, show no sympathy for me,” he said, “All I ask is for you to get a sample for me.”
“Sure, as I said, I’ll help you.”
“Ok,” he gave me a screwdriver. Yes, just a screwdriver.
“What’s this for?” I asked, expecting an odd response.
“To get a sample. Now go, I have to take shelter.” He bolted into the alcove and stuck his hand out, waving good-bye.
Feeling a bit forced now, I ran with the wall of the cave and shielded myself using the buildings. All around, I saw humanoid figures that looked as if they were trying to shield themselves from something. Some statues were perched behind cars. At least I think they were cars. At one point, I thought someone was behind me, but it was one of the sand sculptures. I swatted the statue and it disintegrated into the sand I stood on. I approached another statue and looked at how similar the sculpture was to the face of a human. “Well then, let’s get up there,” I thought to myself. There was a ramp of sand that led up to the crystal that emitted the red light. I climbed my way up to the crystal’s level and like many cavemen, I hit part of the crystal at its base with the screwdriver. Surprisingly, the crystal was soft for a mineral and I was able to get a small bit of it. The crystal stood perfectly still as ever, so I walked briskly without a care back to Sioux’s alcove.

“Hey Sioux! I got the crystal you wanted.” I yelled as I walked into the alcove.
Sioux was on the top bunk of the bunk bed, fast asleep. At the mention of the word “crystal,” he shot up and jumped down. It was as if he never had that metal leg. I tossed the crystal to him.
“Yes! I knew I could trust you!” he yelled to the heavens, “Have a cookie.” He reached into the cabinet and pulled out a large tin with the word “cookie” spelled in yellow capital letters. Delighted, I reached into the tin and pulled out a chocolate chip cookie. Now that I thought about it, I didn’t even know that it was a cookie. I bit into the cookie and it was soft and che-.
“How do you like it?” he said while interrupting my train of thought.
“I like it. I really do. Anyway, so what do we do now?” I asked.
“Just standby. Please do take a rest. I’ll fill you in on what I want you to do tomorrow,” he said, ”but please for now, take the bottom while I prepare some things for your journey. I’ve been so cooped up in research that I can’t accompany you. I’ll get a map, some extra clothes, and a few things for your journey.”
“Oh right. You wanted me to go to Dupo right?” I asked.
“Yes,” he said, “I need you to help me restock my items, like I said before. Anyway, you should get some sleep. I want you well rested for the journey.”
“Ok, good night, Sioux,” I said. At first, he bolted to the side of the bed and watched me like some kind of creeper until I yelled, “Uhh, do you mind?”
“Oh, I’m sorry. Good night, Kono,” he said.
“Wait, what?” I yelled. With my luck, Sioux was gone from the alcove and out of sight. I waited and waited and waited but he never came back. While waiting, I dozed off. The bed was so comfortable and soft for one that’s in a cave.

This dream was not an exception to the fit of weird dreams I’ve been having. I remembered what it was. I felt like I was getting slapped down with the full force of a giant’s hand. I remembered that the giant had a name, but I don’t remember what it was. It was like I was floating too, but like Loki and Prometheus, I was constantly tortured. After every pummel, I heard, “You shouldn’t have done what you did before.” I tried talking and I tried moving, but it was like I was in outer space: nowhere to go and nowhere to run.
That’s when I heard it. “Alright, so what do I need from Dupo? Lenses and food. What kind of food do I need? Ehh I’ll just put random things that any human would need.”

“Hey Kryo?” Sioux said. At the mention of the name, I shot up from the bed and hit my head on the railing of the top bunk bed. “Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry.”
“No no, it’s okay,” I said to him, “Anyway, I’m raring to get out of this cave. What do you got for me?” After the last question, I felt bad for piping that out because I felt like I was expecting something off the bat.
“Haha, don’t feel bad,” he said, “I basically packed a change of clothes, a large bottle of water, some jerky, basic first aid, a map, and the list of items I need. Anyway, I’ll escort you out into what I like to call ‘the Gateway.’”
“Is that the entrance AND exit?”
    “… Yes…”
    “Alright then. Let’s go.”
Sioux escorted me to the Gateway and he waved good-bye to me as I climbed up the ramp of sand into the light of day outside of the cave. Before I walked out, he said, “Hold on.” He pulled out a necklace and handed it to me.
    “What’s this?” I asked.
“You’ll figure it out later,” he said with a happy face.
“Ok then. Thanks” I put it on and attached to the necklace was a locket half the size of my index card box.
“I’ll see you later,” he said, “Have a nice trip!”

Thanks for reading! I hope to continue this and get rid of work. As always, please leave something below if you want to leave a suggestion, a comment, or if you want to be included in this story.
