Staff Applications / Reports

Hello everybody,

For a long time now, the Staff Application and Report Abuse sections have been publicly visible for the entire forums to look at which will no longer be the case.

What we basically did was make these sections private. Our reasons behind this decision were as follows:

For Staff Applications, the following occurred:

• Staff Applications lost their ''uniqueness''. Interaction within individuals made it so Staff applications became part of a sort of system, in which rules like colours, timetables, bolding things and what not became essential. We want an author's original work, only then can we judge it accurately.

• People advising others what to write made it so the uniqueness dropped even further. We were reading the result of many peoples opinions, rather than the words of the author itself.

• A lot of arguing over: You should not get accepted!! - but also, on the opposite said, a lot of spam on: You should be accepted! Which is 100% irrelevant for the Administrator team when making decisions.

• Competition rose incredibly. While we wanted people to apply to help and have fun, it has become a competition for applicants to degrade other applications in the hopes to increase their own chances.

• Having an extra section for staff to monitor is irrelevant and requires more work than it should be required to have.

Together with this, every staff application will be closed and moved to the Denied Section (If you had an opened application, you will find yours there). If you still wish to be a candidate to our staff team, please, do apply again, but do not copy your last application.

For Report Abuse, the following occurred:

• People were scared to report, because friends, members of factions, and other people could judge them.

• People were also scared of the person being reported to seek revenge on them.

• Public humiliation.

• Unneeded comments from the community users on reports which had nothing to do with them.

• Reporting friends was being done privately.

We do understand that some people will not like this being changed, but it is for a greater good. Some things need to be loss in order for things to improve, and this is why we're doing this. The cons outweigh the pros for us to leave things as they were.

Hopefully all of you understand the reason why we did this. Nobody loss anything in this, things will still work as effectively as before, we're just trying to improve things.

Thank you Willy. Someone is STILL holding a grudge against me because I reported them about 1.5 years ago. ._.

 

To be fair most server forums have added this since the opening. And then again it helps so no one knows who reported who and start fights mhm get me

Ok, now I have a question. Would everybody who had a staff app open (that just all god denied) have to wait the 1 month limit? Or could we just apply whenever we please?

Yes you can apply right now, but you can't copy your last application.

I am kind of mad....
I worked so hard on my application, and have been waiting and now just denied....
I am very mad that it closes, JUST BECAUSE ONE THING CHANGES!

 

^, but now we have a chance to show who we are again :)

 

I am mad....
I HAVE TO WAIT ANOTHER 6 1/2 months to a year to get an answer of denial or acceptance...
It just makes me mad.
I worked really hard on that one app, as well as I spent so much money on helping people on the server.
