Hello. So I have been going through depression lately and I was seeking for help on here. I have friends that help me, I am thankful but it does not work. I have talked to them and they understand me but I keep feeling sad. I really don't know what to do. I always act like I am okay but I really am not. Not a lot of people know but does anyone have any advise? Also, my friend has Bipolar depression and she doesen't seen to be depressed like me... Any help?

If you have not been medically diagnosed with depression, then you do not have it -.- This same problem applies with OCD, which a lot of people say they have it.

This means that this is just all in your head, which means you can make it go away. Anyway, don't make any regretful decisions, and try to get past this.

It is not diagnosed depression its just problems I have been thinking about that have been making me feel like shit. I can stop thinking about it but I need something to distract me something to not make me think about the problems I am having. And I have been depressed for over a week and its come to the point where I just can't take it ;-;. I don't want to explain anything its just that I need some advise.

Indeed. Like @CakeSquid said, if you weren't medically diagnosed, it isn't certain you have it. I'd try to see a doctor before diagnosing yourself with actual Depression. As a sufferer of Major Depression (I was medically diagnosed) I understand how you feel, but try to do something different in life; sometimes repeating the same routine over and over, it will eventually get tiring after a while. I can't really tell you a whole lot; just try to work it out with your doctor and I'm positive they'll help you out.

    Good luck.

Edit: Just read your comment to CakeSquid. If you've been upset for a week, that's not depression. Sure, you'll feel depressed, but that's just sadness.
Like I said, if it gets too bad, make an appointment with your doctor and maybe they'll prescribe some medication for you, which can help those thoughts/sadness go away.

    Once again, good luck.

I'm positive that it's that. Depression usually gradually gets worse and worse, it doesn't just immediately show up out of nowhere. Depression can start from early childhood. Try to do your best and cheer yourself up. Spend some time with pets if you have any, spend time with family, friends, or even watch cat videos online, haha. That's really all I can offer. I hope you feel better soon.

Umm... This is far from the truth. So many people have depression but are too scared or insecure to seek out for help from a doctor or a physiologist. And I'm preaty sure you are not a physiologist and can't tell if someone is depressed on a website so please don't diagnose someone.

As for the original post, depression isn't really something that can be helped over the internet. I would recommend talking to a parent or adult about the issue as they are probably much more knowledgeable about the subject then your friends are.

When I saw you quoted my post, I knew you were here to rant. Not the best impression I have of you.

Now, if you actually understood what I was saying, I did not diagnose him with depression. I said that until he gets word from a real doctor, he doesn't have depression. I said that this is all in his head, and that he is just feeling sad about something. So, he can change that on his own (of course with help from family and friends).

So with that logic a person who has cancer doesn't actually have cancer until they go to a doctor and have it checked out, and that if they have signs of a tumor they shouldn't worry about it. Also you said "You don't have depression", so yes you were diagnosing him.

    That isn't the point. xd
I'm done arguing, this is impossible, I'm stopping before you make this worst.

All I'm going to say now is good luck, and to speak with family and friends. Because that's apparently all I'm allowed to say, and to not give advice at all.

A lot of people don't know . But I suffer from Clinical Depression (I have been diagnosed ) for about 2 years now . Its a bumpy road but I try my best to push through it .

I would go see a doctor (if you are that concerned) and tell them about how you feel . And then try and avoid Anti-Depressant because they are not the best to have .

Also , I would try and find something that will distract you from your sadness/depression . I started music because I was feeling depressed .

Good luck and stay strong :)
