Didn't know where to put this, lol.

So uhh, my mother's knee has been hurting her for years.
And I've tried a lot of things, even homemade medicine.
I've even taken her to the doctor and that kind of stuff.

It's getting better but sometimes it gets worse, to the point she can't stand well.
If anyone knows something that can help my mother's knee, please post it here.

    Is knee surgery recommended?

It really depends on what's wrong with her knee.
Is it swollen? If so it may be due to poor circulation or a blood clot, which is very serious.
It may just be joint pain.
I would recommend going to get an X-Ray.

I'll see if I can arrange an appointment.
She was actually fine, it started hurting her 3 years ago, and she's only 40 years old.

i think i have some knowledge in this

i have a loose patella (was born with that since i was a baby) and i can't lift my legs up and hold it still because its that weak. and often it would dislocate and i would have to go to the doctor, but your mother's is different.

    1. did she rip a ligament? is her patella loose? (you can check this by moving the patella left and right, if it moves left and right a lot, that means its loose and needs to be strengthen)

    2. does it hurt only when she walks, or just whenever?

    3. does the patella twist/dislocate?

also I think i wouldn't recommend knee surgery, but only at the last. I suggest you take her to the appropriate doctor, explaining the causes, and yeah.

the doctor will probably give her a x-ray and some tests to do, so they can see the results on what the cause really is and they would take it further then, and then probably she would have a special type of medicine or just might need to strengthen the knee muscle so it held in place and kept sturdy so it wouldn't hurt. if all else fails, then i would suggest knee surgery.

    Both.
Even when she's sitting, she'd feel pain on her knee.

    She might have arthritis?
My dad has arthritis and I know that's knee pain
So you might want to see if she has that
Ask the doctor cus I don't know how to check if you have it.

Arthritis would make sense. It's basically consistent inflammatory joint pain most common in middle-aged people. It would be best for your mother to talk to her doctor for a most accurate diagnosis.

    That should answer your question.

I recommend getting an X-Ray for your mother on her knee so the doctors can analyze what's going on with her knee. Afterwards, ask the doctors that X-Rayd the knee on how you can help your mother treat the knee so she can deal with the pain.
