If this server updates to 1.9 is anyone leaving?

 

No, why would you leave based on ONE update that hasn't even been released yet, and everyone knows is going to change?

Everyone saying 1.9 is DIFFERENT is justified, because it will change things, but saying that it will RUIN the entire GAME makes no sense. Mojang will change everything that needs changing. The things that were changed are different, but aren't bad just because people aren't used to them.

 

Absolutely. NOT! Why would I leave over 1 update? It may ruin PvP, but who cares?

All of this 1.9 blather is rather selfish and pointless. I say this because people say they don't like the update because it ruins that experience for them. However, they do not think outside of what others may think. Currently, this thread has brought a sufficient amount of controversy, and perhaps is a follower of a small group who prefer that the server doesn't update or else they would leave. It would be the most professional choice for the server to update. I would look rather amateur for the server to be two versions behind. This is why it is best to update to 1.9, despite the fact that a small portion of the community thinks it ruins the experience. There is a way around everything, even the new features in 1.9. Just think, how did you get good in the previous updates? You practiced, and now you are being put into a completely different system. The way you get good at anything is hard work, and this is a trial of hard work. I recommend you don't leave, but rather keep going until you could break the code and figure out the best solution for PVPing, and try to be more optimistic next time. Besides, chances are 1.9 may not end up being much different, and I am actually quite excited for 1.9, since I heard they are adding a Story Mode to Minecraft, though I have not heard much about it.

Again, it's pointless, and most people want it to take place, which is why it is selfish.

I don't even get your point anymore. If you're only playing Minecraft for PvP, why aren't you playing a PvP video game? Minecraft is a sandbox game, not a PvP game.

Minecraft: Story Mode is a completely different game, not a part of Minecraft.

I honestly think all this hate for 1.9 is really unnecessary. I mean people have complained about updates in the past, but bashing and complaining isn't going to do a single thing. I honestly am excited for 1.9 because of all the new features that i wanted are coming into the game, like treasures you cant find anywhere else, new enchantments, a more strategic combat system and plenty of other cool things. :) so really people should be excited for this change and not be stuck in the past all the time. :P

 

I honestly think now mojang is stuffing crap in. Wings in vanilla minecraft? Lol it's defeating its purpose: a simple game.

 

No, why would I, but i'll just stay on 1.8 Even though 1.9 pvp will be ruined. Anything besides pvp, the only thing I won't like is shields and nubs flying around using the dragon head.

 

1.9 isn't that big of a concern. The only thing that bothers me about it is the shields and having 2 hands.

(Also, maps or plugins can edit the sword/axe cooldown. Jitter clicking / combos are still a thing. PvP will be similar in that regard.)

Really? 'twould seem as though you are still here. By virtue of the fact that you posted that, it is false. That paradox is similar to the one where saying the word "silence" will break it.

IMO, those who hate the update aren't even trying to see how they could make it work. They see change and automatically abandon it - they don't give it a chance to see if it works.

That being said, here's a suggestion: Try it. Make the effort to become as proficient in the new system as you are in the current system BEFORE judging the quality and viability of this new combat system.
