hopper bug is pissing me off kjhgfdsa ._.

the hoppers keep getting stuck for no goddamn reason, i've done SO much. i made a new farm, i mined hoppers and replaced them 3-4 times, i mined chests and replaced them 3-4 times, i moved my creeper spawners around, and they keep fucking getting stuck. I'm done atm.



is there a fix?????????

 

I'm not 100% sure. It could be to do with Minecraft itself, but I doubt it . I will look into it for you. I'm not an Admin but I will look around for some fixes.

 

What do you mean by "getting stuck"?
Are the items not going through the hoppers? Are the items going somewhere they're not supposed to go?
Show some proof if possible, that would really help.

 

His items aren't flowing through to the chests. It might be happening for me too, but I am not too sure.

 

Maybe to many items are going through the hopper at once. That is what people have been saying on other forums.

It's also possible that too many items are being put through at once. If for example your input is a water stream then too many could be added at once, this will cause the power from the comparator to increase past 2 making adjacent sorters dump what they have. If that's the case then the easy solution is to use hoppers above as input since they will only send one item at a time.

Maybe that helps. I'm just thinking of things....

Or sometimes , servers can be laggy and cause errors with hoppers , Redstone etc.

 

basically the creepers fall to their death, and the gunpowder drops. (I have 160 creeper spawners), so the gunpowder goes into the hoppers.

the thing is, my friends have 300-1000 creeper spawners, and they have hardly ever gotten this problem, i constantly keep getting this problem. :/

Okay so let me first explain this problem:

I have a 160 spawner creeper-farm, around 30 blocks high (so it falls to its death, and the hoppers can pick up the gunpowder)


I AFK all night (7-8 hours) and I empty my chests and everything, so the Gunpowder can fill up the chests. When I afk, the creepers start dropping, of course. Everything goes well, then the Hoppers begin to get jammed. They get full with gunpowder, and it won't pick the gunpowder thats dropping, because its full.

Because of that problem ^, The gunpowder waits to get inside the hopper, and since it goes 1 by 1 into each hopper which takes forever, the gunpowder waiting to get inside the hopper, despawns. SO, meaning that, hardly ANY gunpowder goes in the chests and I am unable to get much gunpowder due to the situation.

When it doesn't get jammed: I receive about 20-30 dubs of gunpowder, regulary.
When it DOES get jammed: I receive about 2-6 dubs of gunpowder.

Here is some pictures:
As you can see in this picture ^ the hopper is jammed in the middle of all other hoppers (which are also jammed).

This is a hopper close to the chest, sorta jammed, but as you can see it was full, now its going 1 by 1 in the chest.

Because it gets jammed, the gunpowder hardly goes through and it ends up getting very few gunpowder.

TL;DR When I afk, the gunpowder overflows in the hoppers, and gets jammed/goes very slow (1 by 1 in to the chest) which gives me very little gunpowder to sell.

 

This is not a bug, this is how Minecraft works.
Hoppers can receive any items at any speed, but they can only dispose 2.5 items every second. Therefore, if your hoppers receive items very quickly, they will be overfilled.
One solution is to make your farm wider, that way there would be more hoppers for each spawner.

 

isn't there something that makes it go faster?

Like I play servers which dispenses 8 at a time..

 

If you place a lot of hoppers, 2.5 items per second can be fast enough. The servers you have played on probably modified the hoppers. As far as I know, Jerry and Harry did not change the hoppers.
