How my school is.

Today we had a lockdown in my school. Usually they tell the teachers when and stuff. No one knew about this lockdown. We just had a lockdown drill so we weren't sure why we were having this one. It lasted a half an hour. That's ridiculous. Everyone was scared by then. It turns out that the reason we were in lockdown was that we had over 10 police officers/detectives come in our lockers with drug dogs and check them for drugs. When we were out of lockdown the period ended so we ended up seeing all the dogs.

When the police were finished searching they found that 17 people had drugs in their locker. That's out of the about 300 or so kids in the highschool. That's insane to me.

I don't know what has happened to society, but it's gone downhill so much in the recent years. I wish society wasn't this messed up. It's not as good as it was.

 

You have 300 people in your school? We have 3000. Anyways, that's pretty sad.

To think our generation is "revolutionary" and such is bull. Good luck with that by the way.

That's kind of why I was saying how society was messed up. School shootings and drugs have become a thing now. Not a good thing, but a thing.

School shootings and drugs have virtually always been a part of American society. Well, at the very least, for a very long time.
School shootings have existed since around 1920. The last major one to occur was nearly three years ago. But school shootings have always existed in the Americas, with the first one occurring before the nation even existed.
Drugs have existed in the form of opium for... well, I don't even need to do the research. Marijuana and opiates have been accessible for centuries, and if anything they're harder to get today.

Despite what the media may say, with regard to things like school shootings and drugs, society (and thus our generation) has actually improved.

 

Yes, they have all been around for a long time but there has at least had to have been an increase in the amount of them in recent years.

Even though drugs may be harder to get, that doesn't they are impossible and there are still a lot of people with drugs at my school so obviously they aren't that much harder to get. I know they've been around for a while but when kids start bringing them to school and have 13 year olds smoking marijuana it kind of tells you that society is messed up somewhere.

School shootings haven't really increased that much. A whole ton of them, for instance, occurred in the 1900's. The reason we know about them more prominently now is because news is readily obtainable through the media. You wouldn't have heard about a 1960 shooting for days, unless you tuned to specific television channels or read a newspaper. At that time, people were oblivious to a lot of the outside world. Now, we can get news by typing in a URL. The greater accessibility opens us up to more information, and we suddenly think that things (like school shootings) have spiked. In reality, they've always existed, it's just that few people cared.

Drugs don't seem that hard to get, but in the 60's, 70's, and 80's, drug culture was massive. Laws against them weren't really enforced until Reagan's presidency. At this point, while drugs are still obtainable, people who use them are caught much more easily. And they still aren't nearly as obtainable as they once were.
Take NYC, for instance. In the 80's, if you walked from one side of Washington Square Park to the other (not a very long distance), you would frequently be offered drugs. According to my own father, he counted how many times people would do so. It averaged at somewhere around 12 to 13. Nowadays, drug culture isn't nearly as prevalent.

In the 1960s, a lot of teenagers wanted to run away to San Francisco because they thought it was "peace capital". 1966 in San Francisco was actually decent until 1967. A lot of teenagers who arrived in the middle of 1967 became homeless, drug addicts, and some girls became sex workers (So much for the Summer of Love :/). New York was on the harder drugs, heroin.
So basically San Francisco was peace, love, hippie, marijuana, LSD and New York was hard, poetic, heroin.

So pretty much drug culture was heavily glorified by teenagers past their teenybopper days.

Also I remember when I was in elementary skool, we had a lock down and there were all deez po poz aroud our skool for the rest of the year cuz some guy sot some1 in da playground like really? a play ground??! -.- anyways it wasn't a homicide and the person didn't die that's good

 

At my school the girls are literally hookers.

That's a whole different story for me but we have a crap ton of girls like that.

My school is horrible. Well, not horrible, but this one girl is horrible!

So I have this one teacher who use to be in the Military(I thank him for his service), but this one girl takes advantage of the fact he has PTSD. 2 days so far, we left the class with him crying or hiding under the desk crying.

That girl also "B*tched Slapped" a science teacher who didn't allow her to use the restroom.

She also got a teacher in trouble for the following. So she brings drugs to school, and that science teacher caught her! So the student put the drug box in her hand and the principal walked when this happen:

*Student puts drugs in teachers hand*
Teacher: You are so going to the office, <Name>, I am writing a referral! You know what, before I do!
*Principal Walks In*
Teacher: (Puts the drugs towards us) You should have this!
Principal: Mrs. <Name>, come outside with me!

*So yah, we didn't have a teacher for the rest of the period, and that girl was suspended for 1 Week.*

So yah, that girl makes my school terrible!

 

My school is a private one, from Grades 1-12. We have roughly 650 people in it. It's a really amazing school, there are no drug problems here.
