Let me start this off by saying I am not trying to make fun of, hate on, or harass anybody who likes My Little Pony. Now that I have that out of the way i'd like to ask, Why do some of you guys like 13+ enjoy watching the show My Little Pony? I thought that show's demographic was 4-8 year old girls? Just asking :)
I simply don't :P I tried watching the first episodes but dang, from my perspective, they were as childish as heck. I asked some hardcore MLP fans why they like it so much and they said that it is just like a habit for them...
Because: 1. It beautifully combines character, plot, and humor. 2. The people who make it are aware of the fandom and try to support it in the show. For example, a googly-eyed background pony known by the fandom as Derpy was noticed by some people in the first episode. Eventually, they started intentionally putting her in as gags or random appearances. They even made her not appear in the first 9 episodes of season 4 just to troll us. 3. It avoids being like all those stereotypical preschool shows. 4. The characters are sexy, especially Twilight
Same here. It seems like a halfway decent show, which didn't have that much to mock. But I still didn't like it. And Princess Twilight? Try beating TWILIGHT PRINCESS!
I did watch the first episode and posted my opinions of it on the old forums, much to the dismay of some people. It wasn't actually bad, but it just wasn't my kind of show.
That has got to be the most accurate portrayal of Poofberry I have ever seen. Spot on, really. I will say it here and now that I hate the show with the passion of 1,000 white hot burning suns, but I'm curious as to why so many others find it so enjoyable. Enlighten me :P
Never watched because: therewasthatonetimethatmybrotherragedinhalo4andthrewhiscontrolleratthescreensonowmytvisbrokensothereyouhearditIwillstoptalkingnow
1. everything there is just cute, the characters, the story, everything 2. I love horses. 3. even though it's soppused to be a show for 5 years old, I really love all the friendship in it and what not 4. the story is funny, a bit, more like sad, wait what 5. swag
Why do I like MLP FIM? Well, a big part is due to Lauren Faust. She basically made The Powerpuff Girls (one of my favorite shows as a child) And Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. (Quite possibly my favorite cartoon of all time.) She's an amazing producer and helped make MLP great. The animation is also spot-on, and the characters have changed for the better in recent seasons, feeling less one-dimentional like the first season. Overall, it's a great show. And hey, I made both Pyro and Rigby into bronies, so I guess that's and accomplisment.
Horses are boss. The characters in this show, they don't remotely look like horses to me. My brother liked it. I mistakenly said. "If they were humans I would watch it". You know what happened next, I still didn't watch it. The pink one is worth a chuckle, occasionally...
Yay you mentioned me. Anyway, seeing that a lot of non-bronies are posting here, I might as well share what my opinion on MLP was before I became a brony. 2 years before I became a brony: I thought it was a dumb little girl's show I could mindlessly hate on. A year before I became a brony: I noticed MLP was real popular on the Internet. I no longer hated it but thought it was weird that males liked it. Right before I became a brony: I knew that MLP probably was indeed the greatest thing ever and was afraid that I would become addicted to it if I decided to watch it. (That's exactly what happened XD)
Well Rigby, I wouldn't say cartoon horses are sexy (I'm not too keen on beastiality) I watched a few of the episodes with my friends a while ago. It was just like a kids show. The only good point I've heard from anyone (more than half of the repliers just said "I don't like it so yeah.") was that it was cute. I've heard people say stuff like "Its story is breathtaking with deep rooted characters etc." and that's a GIANT hyperbole.
I'm guessing at some point the original series became appealing to a different age group(People over the age of 8), then the show probably decided to further increase the interest by modifying, so now technically it's not really a kids show. Idk, never watched it lol
Actually, as soon as the first episode aired males instantly became attracted to the show. It gradually grew very popular and by the second season it became as popular as it is now.
