Though 1.9 is ok in some ways I honestly don't think the server should be updated to 1.9, it will ruin some minigames
I really don't care if they update the server or not but if they do they will have a way to bypass the cooldowns.
Idk if 'horrendous' is the best word to describe it. No doubt it is absolutely going to change it. I feel as if Mojang is taking away the fast-paced wear-n-tear pvp we have now, and instead giving us a much more challenging type of pvp: Tactical. Now, instead of focusing on wearing down your enemy's armor, you now need to focus on positioning. Getting behind your enemy to render his shield null. At the same time, you need to make sure that your enemy doesn't do that same to you. You also need to focus on keeping your crosshairs on your enemy and making your moves less predictable. Because trust me, attacking in a synchronized fashion is so easy to manipulate. If I know when you're going to hit, then I'm just going to block with my shield then. It's really not that hard.
im aware of that. First its not horrendous, its a change. Just like everthing else in minecraft, changes occur. PvP has been left untouched for a long time, we all should of known that it was a matter of time before Mojang updated the pvp. Second, give it some time. 1.9 is a LONG ways away, potentially a year if the server api taks as long as it did last time.
The server api has a private snapshot version so it will be fast but J&H will take a while as they should so people get adjusted to the changes
How was that rude at all? Like really, not like he said 'Your sense of humor sucks and you should die' Oh and have fun with that denied report <3
1.9 stops all gorilla warfare pvp and makes you act smart before killing yourself We should have this in real life
Well, IJAH can bypass the cooldowns through Bukkit/Spigot. I think it will be interesting because in factions the fight won't be all out-gearing your enemies. You can't gapple and swing at the same time, so that's one less thing to worry about. Lingering potions will be cool as well. The End will most likely be disabled, but the new mobs might be buy-able in the in-game shop. Using shields will also alter pvp. Even then, everybody says pvp is messed up in 1.8 anyway. 1.9 is called "The Combat Update" for a reason: They added many new features to 1.9. I think IJAH have something in mind to counter the faults of 1.9, so I wouldn't worry. I personally don't like 1.8, but 1.9 is pretty cool, and I can't wait for the update. It took a long time mostly because of the switch to UUIDs.
They already used 1.7.10 w/ the 1.8 protocol hack. The UUID update happened (For J&H) when J&H officially said they supported name changes.
