No, the ability to spamclick is what causes so many good pvp players to win fights in 1.8.x and lower. I personally have a low Clicks Per Minute (And combined with a few other factors) and I suck at "traditional" pvp.
He seemed kinda positive about it but Things in snapshots aren't final It is admin controllable. So if J&H want to give you guys no cooldown then they can. It will mean you have to think of strategies, time your hits and be creative about attacking rather than just rushing into it. I can see how the cooldown is too long and I do think it should be shorter but at least Mojang made it controllable so things like AgarPVP can have no cooldown.
I think I'll like 1.9. I'm all about strategy, I love to try to figure out what to do before going into a battle.. But I always seems to loose the fight because of the spam clickers.. which is what 1.7-1.8 pvp is all about. 1.9 I think will give the "thinkers" and "Strategists" the upper advantage to pvp. That's just my thoughts.

How would this be the other way around? The normal pvpers spam the crap out of their mouse to hit people.. while like myself, try to figure out when to attack, and not just swing my sword and destroy my finger from the constant clicking.. I time my attacks.. I don't click violently until I kill the person..
But 1.9 pvp has less skill, its basically hit, wait for the cooldown, opponent hits, waits for the cooldown, just standing there. It's a battle on whoever has the better gear or whoever hits first.
To me, I think 1.9 is when skills come in.. trying to dodge attacks.. then attacking while they cooldown.. or if they miss an attack enderpearl away.. 1.9 is all about timing.. which timing has to be skilled..
Spam clicking is more than spam clicking. It's about cps, positioning, comboing, all that stuff has been ruined by 1.9. However i do agree with part of it. It rendered ping and killaura mostly useless.
Pvp isnt really being ruined, it's being changed. In a lot of games Melee seems to be the most underdone and missed concept. Minecraft was no exception. There is a game coming out in 2016 titled "For Honor", and they made their pvp a lot like how MC is making it. The battles shown from the testing of that game was really tense, it was hard to tell when your enemy was going to hit, thus making it hard to tell when to counter. I understand a lot of Pvp'ers were attracted to the fast-paced pvp shown in it, like cod, but I think 1.9 will bring in the idea of patience into Pvp.
Patience is boring its about spamclick, strafing, jitterclicking, comboing and other stuff not patience
*was about I mean, you can edit custom weapon stats so it was like 1.8 pvp, but overtime those servers are going to die out because people would have to get used to the new pvp anyways lol. And honestly spamclicking and jitterclicking is bad for your fingers lol.
