Some have labeled the current generation yes us the millennials. Though some call us Generation Snowflake. It's implying that this generation each and every one of us strives to be a drastically unique and different individual. Hence they name Generation Snowflake. I've spent some time thinking on it on how the insult unoriginal really hits us hard in this generation as everyone does strive for a state or originality and uniqueness. Me myself i don't find my self very different at all I'm and introvert with only 4 friends I hold dearly to and i was thinking to myself should i be different should i follow these societal stereotypes or be a rouge but then either way i go i stand out i'm unique but that's human nature no one is the same in the first place. But why would you want to be drastically different i see that you would be attention and a lot of people now are attention whores. And at this day and age the new people seem to be less appreciative less humble and respectful it seems that they all want to rebel and show how "Hip" they are but they loose out on being a better person and that's what many people seem to appreciate now because the sense of being a good person has been lost. I know this thread is jumpy but is sorta of a talk about the current gen and how its characteristics are poor and they strive for attention. But all the past gens have had something about them that sets them off. but i guess this ones is Attention lovers With Poor Personality's. that's just a general stereotype. Though so many people out there born from the 90's and early 20000 are fantastic people and there young and i know they could change but they are fantastic people and i hope they stay that way. This generation also has many pro's just like the others did. We are innovative, daring, inventive and bold. Maybe i've just been letting my late night thoughts linger too much and let it get out of hands so im just puting out here. If you have and opinion on this topic/subject please leave your two cents down below and tell me what you think.
This generation is not the best. Could just be me, because I miss the late 90's and early 2000's but, you have to admit the people of this generation is run by technology. They cannot let go of their devices for just a minute. The last generation was the best, why? People not being on their phones 24/7, not recording a concert and just enjoying it, and photos meant a lot because people took less but meaningful photos. Also when they wanted to do something inside, they would unwind by turning on their tv and watching MTV. But anyways, I'm going to end it here and stop talking about how this generation is much worse than the last one.
Very much agreed i wish we could just let go of our devices our devices are the nuclei of this current day and age and it will probably never revert back to a simpler time. I agreed the last generation was the best we had technology but it didnt control us is still gave us a natural quality of life a more out there living thing.
The problem with our generation is that when the chips go down, people go crazy because they can't survive without Facebook or other social media.
In the 1960s, a lot of teenyboppers just screamed and tried to get on stage with their idol, instead of enjoying the concert. 90% of the American population owned a television in the 1960s. During that era, people were basically addicted to television. Guys, believe it or not, but other generations were as annoying as our current generation. (Especially baby boomers)
Internets a big part of our generation now and I personally think that yeah maybe we are detached and oblivious to what's around us but its actually brought us closer as a planet i guess? Like in past generations normally (or at least I think) you wouldn't have friends from all over the world who were nice and friendly and shared their opinions on todays instances and issues. You couldn't really do that before and were kinda forced to just befriend people who lived near you and it was hard to find people with similar likes and dislikes if you were different from others since the choices were so small compared to now where nearly everyone's on the Internet voicing their opinions and letting everyone and anyone know who they are. and if that doesn't make sense well for example if someone in previous generations wanted to set up a poll the answers would highly be unanimous since itd only be answered by the people around them who were likely all raised and taught the same as opposed to now, where if you simply put a question up on tumblr or something you will get several different responses from several different people in several different places who were all taught and learnt differently. I feel like the diversity and independence has brought us closer and has been beneficial to finding and correcting social standards so yeah this generation is pretty rad compared to others lol this is rly long sorr y i had a lot to say even tho it made 0 sense
I was going to our it in my own words but this guy does a better job: Social media was meant to make interacting "easier". By easier, I do not mean it would promote interacting. Think of it this way: When someone comes to you bawling and screaming about a problem, isn't it easier (or cleaner) to comfort them by just typing a few words than putting your arm around them and being sensitive about what you say? It requires less depth, therefore making it the more appealing choice. Studies show that many kids and teenagers choose this option over face-to-face conversations. I am not saying this is an improvement. We should be excited about the relationships we have with other human beings, this is just a negative side of social media. Also observe how the more kids and teens use the internet and social media, the more socially-awkward they become, thus proving said internet and media promote themselves. A recent poll displayed most people use social media because it, "helps shy and lonely people make new friends." @Radii
