[In-Game Terms] What Does This Mean?

Have you ever had someone ask what a chat acronym means? Chat acronyms or in-game terms are basically shortcuts often used in the Minecraft Chat. I've seen a lot of players ask what does "AFK" mean... or what does "gg" mean. Let's just get right into it.

AFK
The term, "afk" or "AFK," is often used to tell when someone is Away From Keyboard. In other words, when someone goes AFK they're not on their computer. If you're playing Survival/Factions, make sure you AFK in a safe area like spawn so you do not die.

GG
The term, "gg" is often said after a game to either show sportsmanship or to boast one's ability. Usually "gg" can also be fully types out as, "good game." Don't throw a tantrum and accuse someone of hacking. Just have sportsmanship. Say "gg."

GL
The term, "gl" is often said before a game to tell others that they are a professional or just to have good sportsmanship. Some say, "glhf" which means "good luck, have fun."

HF
You can't have GL without HF. The term, "hf" is also often said before a counter-strike game. Like I said earlier, it is often used with "GL." It simply means, "have fun."

IRL
The term, "irl" or "IRL," just means in real life. People often use this in the form of a question to ask abotu something in your "real life." E.g. "Is he your IRL friend?" When someone says "1v1 me irl, ill rekt you," they are telling you not to bother them because they can "wreck" you "1 on 1, in real life."

IGN
The term, "IGN" refers to your in game name. In other words, it is used to ask what your Minecraft username is, for giveaway threads, etc. It is commonly used on the forums and sometimes in-game.

GTG
The term, "GTG" means "got to go." It literally means they have to get off Minecraft and do something.
