Honestly, I think we will destroy the earth with or war or just selfishness.

The sun will explode, turn into a black hole, and suck up all the planets

 

Our sun is too small to turn into a black hole.

 

Meteor or Asteroid.

 

There are two feasible possibilities, neither of which are mentioned.

1. The Yellowstone Caldera, which is a supervolcano that is overdue to erupt, does so. Massive amounts of the population would be wiped out. The entire continent of North America would be covered in three feet of volcanic ash. The ecosystem takes a massive hit as a result. The stock market crashes, and currency is unable to recover. Global warning increases tenfold, and the earth begins to heat up drastically. The ozone layer would be completely demolished, making walking outside harmful to one's health. And, if the eruption was big enough, we could all potentially die immediately.

2. One country fires an ICBM (intercontinental ballistic missile) at another. Either this country or another retaliates. Nuclear war ensues, creating the same economic and environmental effects that a supervolcano would. Every country unleashes their entire supply of nuclear armaments. The world as we know it ends, and government ceases to exist. Any survivors would be living in a world akin to that of Fallout or The Road.

Our world will only end when the Sun swallows it, note the word, "World". By world, meaning Earth. The rock called Earth will end when the Sun expands, however, life can end sooner and by many different means. The world, and life are completely different things.

The world can end in so many different ways. (I think in 5 million if I'm correct?) the sun will begin to become a dwarf star and begin to expand by getting bigger. By the time the sun reaches the earth we'll either be dead by an earlier natural effect or nuclear war. If the world were to be planned out everyone would die from the heat and that would be WAYYYY before the sun even gets to earth, most likely after it burns mercury we will start to burn..a lot. We also don't have any proven black holes around earths area. Most proven black holes are very far away to where it couldn't reach earth for 100 million years. But, if a black hole were to come, it would end earth very quickly. If I'm correct the black hole would start by sucking up the earths crust eventually until it reached the opposite side of the earth. At that time, the earth would be completely obliterated. Other ways could be a world wide spread in disease or a super volcano or nuclear war and probably many others. Personally, I'm a Christian so I just go with how the bible states it.

 

It will happen in 5 Billion years, where the Sun turns from a Yellow Star to a Red Giant. The nearest Black Hole is at the center of the Milky Way Galaxy. Most likely, the Human Race will have spread to other worlds before the Earth ends in 5 Billion years to the Sun.

Remember, there's a difference between the end of the world and the extinction of life. When people say the world will end, they mean that all life will go extinct, but the world will still exist. The world will only end when the Earth is completely destroyed, such as when it will get incinerated by the Sun.
