I do not personally own a gaming keyboard because there is no need. That's my opinion. What does a gaming keyboard do? I mean, my MMO mouse takes care of all the hotkeys binds because I have like 30 of them. It's just a keyboard with extra grip, extra keys, and LED's, right? Why should someone buy a gaming keyboard? Do you own a gaming keyboard, if so can you post/link an image?
It depends on the gaming keyboard. Some are just out there with cool backlit keys or whatnot, trying to say "oh it's a gaming keyboard." My keyboard has 3 sets of Macro Keys, that you can program to do whatever you want. It was around $60 or so. Here's a picture:
So there is like no point, right, unless you REALLY want one. My mouse has LEDs a ton of macros. For an MMO I can understand.
I use the same keyboard that I'm sure a lot of gamers use, It is a bit pricey but it's a really great keyboard if you ask me.
I mean why would I spend 100+ dollars on a razer keyboard when it offers the things I already have? Nom sayin
It has extra hotkeys and the keys themselves are actually more responsive than generic keyboards. Also, if you get Razer Synapse, you can set different keys to whatever you'd like them to be for games where this is not changeable.
I have a mouse that's way cheaper and does the same thing. I'm sure a gaming keyboard has some advantages on some games like MMOs but my mouse us made FOR an MMO so I have plenty of keys.
Oh well if you have a mouse with a bunch of side buttons like a Razer Naga or something similar, a gaming keyboard shouldn't be much of an issue. Just get a simple cheap effective on that suits all of your needs on eBay or a similar website.
I know right. I have the G600 which has like 30 bindable keys with LEDs. It was 60 dollars. A better keyboard would help with reaction time but that's the only benefit, for ms at least, that I see.
Just macros and backlighting, which you can get on a normal keyboard for a lot cheaper. They're a complete waste, especially since you already have a gaming mouse.
Yeah that's what I thought. I wasn't planning on getting one. I was just curious as to why people want one.
