So, basically have you been involved in any kind of historic event? Whether you saw a famous fight in sports or a no hitter, or if you or your family were in New York (or D.C.) when 9/11 happened. Basically anything. Comment below what you've seen

 

June 26, 2015.
Same-sex marriage became legal in all 50 states of the United States.

Saw it on television.

 

• 2006 Lebanon war - I was in the area and I saw a few buildings nearby being hit by missles. We had to leave the area for a month.
• Mount Carmel Forest fire 2010. I saw the fire.
• 2014 Gaza-Israel conflict - I saw the Iron Dome missle defense system operating.

Only bad things here :/

 

I didn't know that something that happened recently could be considered "historical"... I thought it had to have happened quite a while ago...

But anyways, my grandpa was 7 years old when WW2 ended.
I was 3 when 9/11 happened.
I remember when Obama was elected as the first black president.

 

That God for the Iron Dome. Too bad that the United States has too weak of a leader to help Israel.

 

The United State's president isn't too weak of a leader to help. It's just that he dislikes Benjamin Netanyahu and supports Palestine. And the Iron Dome was pretty much a US funded program, the US plays 90K at a monthly/weekly/yearly (I can't remember) on missiles for the Iron Dome

 

President Obama has taken office and has caused tension with out number one ally, and our only ally in the Middle East.

 

I saw when same sex marriage was legalized on TV, there was a lot of yelling.


I saw the boston marathon explosion on tv

 

ISIS bombing the mosques, seen on TV
The great jump (That guy who jumped from outer space) seen on live television

 

You are very right sir. Israel is our one key ally in a war torn area and is a useful country for dealing with Iran as Israel also dislikes Iran.

 

I know I started this, but let's end this discussion here. This thread isn't about the Middle East and its problems.

 

When I was just 7 months old, 9/11 happened. My mom was in the kitchen and my dad was outside mowing the lawn. My mom then got a call from my uncle in Canada who said "GO LOOK AT THE NEWS QUICK A TERRORIST ATTACK HAPPENED", and my mom quickly called my dad inside. They both saw the 9/11 attacks unfolding on television, and then a group of their neighbors came out and talked about the entire thing. (They were nice people), and from then on I was always tormented for being a Muslim at school and online. This seems off-topic but people just because one person in an ethnic group does something doesn't mean that the entire group isn't responsible for it.

 

I was very small, but I went with my mom to the funeral of the late Senator Paul Wellstone =3

 

It's a shame some people still refuse to accept gays though. There should really be a law in place to stop sexuality discrimination, that goes for gays & Transgends.

 

There should be something like that for Racism as well, but people will always use the "Freedom of Speech" excuse. People are ignorant. It pisses me off.

 

Yeah, I hate people who say all Muslims are terrorists. A terrorist is a terrorist, he/she can be any race. Like no.... When I see Muslims in person I always feel bad because I think about all of the looks and cruel remarks they probably get just from wanting to live here in U.S.A. I welcome any Muslim because being Muslim does not make you a terrorist, being a terrorist makes you a terrorist.

 

Yeah, I get its a big event and all, but it's not technically considered historical unless it's history. Aka old. And this happened so recently it's hard to consider it historical.
