People tell me to add more information to my application. So I add more detailed information. Then people tell me that my application is too long. So I remove some details. Then I sometimes have people telling me to add more freaking information, when my application is longer than a huge majority of others. I just don't get it! What suggestion do I take?!
But it's hard to know what is medium, since you're supposed to use as much detail as you can to convince to become Helper
You don't need to listen to all the tips people leave on your app. They're helpful, yes, but if you think it's good, then it's good.
I think, maybe make a paragraph summarising it, and then below explain it in more detail. But to be honest I think your application is great, if your satisfied then it should be fine
When they say add more info, they most likely mean explain. Example; if the question is "What would make you a good helper" and you say "I am ____ and _____ and _____" for a paragraph, that's just making it long. You want a few good reasons, and then elaborate on it. For example, instead of saying "I would make a good helper because I am dedicated, active, and mature" and listing other good qualities, pick a few of the promising ones and explain what makes you active/dedicated/mature. I hope this makes sense xD ^
Honestly I would say listen to the opinions of those you trust. Make sure to take out details that are unnecessary. You don't have to listen to everybody.
Don't get too off topic, but being very detailed yet on-topic at the same time is good; if you're doing that in your application and people say it's too long, sucks for them.
I really just think replies should be disabled altogether. It would prevent bumping and would really prevent spam and just those tippers that say things like add color and whatnot. Its pointless to have tips that 90% of the time arent useful. You dont need tips to make a great application. A great application comes from determination. The more effort you originally put into it truly shows how much you care, and how mature you really are. Other people telling you shouldnt count, because its other people, not you. But yes, find a balance. Dont ramble on but dont shrink it. Find whats just right.
Tbh most people just give you a lot of bs for feedback. If you're happy with it after you've looked it over, then it's up to the owners.
Most people who tell you your application is too long have applications themselves which are, in reality, too short. Do not listen to those whose opinions you are not sure you can trust. Be confident in what you by your own merit had written.
