So.. for a long time I've been wanting to dye my hair. I have long-ish straight, thin, brown hair. I want to make it a auburn red color. Once it's dyed, I want it to look something like this: So my questions are... I could get it done professionally but that would be really expensive, but also make it look a lot better since my hair is a "virgin" (aka my hair has never been dyed/permed before). Or I could just buy a color I want from the drug store and do it myself with help from my mom. So basically, what I wanted to do is get it done professionally the first time and then do it at home once it starts to fade. Is that a good idea or not? I've talked with a few people who've dyed their hair and got mixed opinions, so I thought I'd ask here. Any advice will be appreciated!

Yes i saw your hair its so fab im jelly :o but im gonna get it like the pic i showed cuz i dun wanna be a copycat xD
no lol many people have it like that and I don't think it's healthy to dye all of your hair at early age :c
yeah ik but i like the highlights at the top and my hair is pretty healthy, i rarely ever use heat and dont wash it every single day so would dye really affect it that much?
If I asked a professional they would no doubt say something like "dying your hair at home is horrible only do it here"
Hmmm idk really, red is a strong colour and you will need to dye your hair a lighter colour to suceed that dark red colour tbh so yea it will affect you xd
my hair isn't that dark it's like medium brown and auburn red isn't strong, because auburn can also be a natural color and and in the summer i get auburn highlights but they are only visible in the sun and even then hardly visible so yeah. i just want all of my hair to be like those highlights i already have.
what wait what i just explained my natural highlights arent visible unless u look at in sunlight at a certain angle so if i got my hair dyed all the color but like more red then it would be visible I NEED MORE ADVICE PLS PPLS
I would definitely go to a professional because they use cool stuff so your hair stays soft and doesn't feel damaged, but if you can't afford it, do it at home, but make sure to deep condition your hair and keep it healthy! Good luck & I'm sure its gonna turn out gorgeous <3
Definitely go to a professional, as you want to get a lot done. I got home dyed hair, as I have part blonde in me hair, making me a living topdeck chocolate heh It looked really weird at first.
dis be my hair. (right after i got it "styled) usually its straight and BORING. if u wanna see it on a normal day, find my newest picture on that post ur face thread i dont dislike my hair, i just want it dyed because i like auburn better than brown
Why do people dye there hair? Don't you want it natural so when your older your hair won't look like shit Don't get me wrong dying your hair at the ends is fabulous
People dye their hair to express themselves. I want my hair to make a statement because it is my hair and nobody else's. It's been natural for as long as I've lived and how exactly does dying it make it look like ? Then you completley contradict what you just said by saying dying your hair [at the ends] is fabulous. So what's the difference? Hair is hair. It's just dead matter that grows out of your head. Why should you even care what other people do to it? Same deal with tattooing and piercing and basically any other aesthetic body changes. Sure, you may have your opinion on it, but in the end people can do whatever they want with it.
