Its not weird... It doesn't matter what sex you marry, it matters on how you feel for them, if you truly love them.

I was telling the great news to some people in my class and the teacher comes over (she carries herself very arrogantly and is overall really rude)) and says "what are you guys talking about? It seems interesting." And i told her that gay marriage was legalized nationally this morning. And she says "well there will probably be many legal battles, so don't get your hopes up. Lots of states don't like to get bossed around by the government." I realized that she was probably against it and I said "that's the price of being an american state then, no matter how much they stall, they will have to abide by the law." She just kinda frowned at me then left lol.

    EQUALITY FOR EVERYONE

Don't judge other people by their sexuality, if you have nothing good to say on this thread, then you might as well leave.

Anyway, still hasn't happened here in Aus because of our idiot prime minister.

Personally I am against the practice of Gay marriage, myself being a christian, But this is definitely a big step for civil rights in america. Nobody deserves to be oppressed for what they believe. Hopefully this big step will lead to equality for other groups in america.:)

This is honestly A wise decision by the government. I mean, think of it. There are millions and millions of couples that live under a relationship other than straight. #LoveIsLove

Hey, hey. Don't mean to mini-mod, but EVERYONE has a right to opinion, politically correct, popularly accepted or not. Let's not turn this into a flame war.

wow, so since he has an opinion that means hes a horrible person? everyone is entitled to what they believe. Just as the people who support gay marriage shuld be treated fairly, so should the people who are against it.

Can't really comment simce it's not my country that legalized it. I am just annoyed that on every site I go on except SCP and CI, there's gay pride love wins shit and no more of the fun stuff I like :(

It's leaning towards bias since Ireland legalized it like last month and no one cared lol. Guess that's America and I wanna cry lamenting the fact that even equality is viewed unequally

I don't support it and even dislike the LGBT people (it's completely out of order but I guess we have different concepts), but good for them. They get what they want. No big deal. I'm happy if it makes a few friends happy.

I share your opinion (aforementioned obsession of order). We both don't know how they think, and that's okay.

I totally see what you mean, its like its only important when America does something. Ireland barely got any attention much less controversy. I just posted this as it was in my country (and I've been told i need to pay better attention to politics :/)

My stance is that it doesn't really affect me, thus I'm happy for them but its like being at a birthday party, or wedding if that's more appropriate, you just clap along. I have friends who are gay, we don't really talk about sexuality, really ever, unless we're making a joke about it

Probably because the US is 60 times the size of Ireland

That's quite a wrong way how to think about it. I agree that the US is bigger and more influential, but Ireland holds the distinction of legalizing it via a majority (?) yes vote. That should warrant a very noisy social media trend. Even if that can be picked apart and smashed to oblivion by other members, I still say that equality itself is viewed unequally.

I'm not saying it's less important when Ireland legalizes it. I'm just saying that's why "Ireland barely got any attention". Ireland has a population of 4.6 million, of course that's not gonna create a "very noisy social media trend". Tbh I never even saw anything about Ireland's decision in the news.

Jerry's right. Sure we made history but the only source of notice Ireland got for legalising it was a trend on Twitter. Tbh, if I wasn't Irish, I wouldn't give a damn on what happened here because I wouldn't really know much about it.

Personally, I'm undecided about this decision. I'm not against gays or anything like that, it's just awkward.. ya know?

I was talking about it with my mom yesterday and there are some great benefits to gay marriage.

    1. You don't have to struggle to find the perfect woman or man because you can just marry your own gender.
    2. (This applies to all married people; gay or not I guess.) Medical benefits. If your spouse is has a medical benefits or coverage (whatever they call it) you can join there plan. If someone in the relationship gets sick, the other person gets to decide the treatments for their spouse and for themselves; since the other one is sick.
I don't know how to think of this for now.. but all I have to say is, "Thanks Obama." (not in a sarcastic way.)

We did. I know you talked about population, and what I'm saying is that the factors presented in Ireland's vote were the most ideal in what I see. And then no one acknowledges it in the way it happens now.
