Admit it that Video Game OSTs are better than most of today's music.

    Not really

Video game/movie/whatever OST are usually very long with just instruments and not singing, and it's usually the same beat over and over again.
"Today's" songs on the other hand, are all unique with different beats and stuff. Also by saying "today's" music you probably mean music from artists like One Direction, Miley Cyrus etc, but you can't really generalize all of today's music like that because some of the modern songs are really good.

It is a point, but can't really agree, only to some extent. An example is fkin Noisia... NOISIA made an entire collection of songs for one of the Devil May Cry games. Wow.

I do like listening to Video game OST's, but it doesn't mean that they are better than any other type of music.

Everyone has a different taste in music...

Well hey, the only song I like from a video game is 'Hope For The Future' on Destiny.

Paul McCartney wrote it though so ?!?!?

Halo 3's OSTs are better than dub step. Halo can bring back orchestra like a badass c:

So... You like "Behold a Pale Horse"? Cause that's my favorite. Or how about "One Final Effort", the one that plays when Hood's frigates are firing on Truth's ship?

Halo soundtracks, Assassin's Creed soundtracks...I could list a dozen games that have some of the most amazing pieces of music.
Hell, even Sonic 06 (considered the worst game in the franchises history, for those who didn't know) had some of the most kick-ass Sonic music.

But a lot of artists today make music just as good, not for games. And i'm not just talking about the big-names, i'm also talking about those who make fan music.

I mean, I see it this way: No music is "the best". Sure, you may think that video game music is the best. Though I do agree it is quite spectacular, it is in no way the best. Music itself is amazing, no matter how you may look at it.

Don't forget Skyrim, that soundtrack is just amazing, and goes together perfectly with the entire theme of the game

Well, I think I can explain why people think videogame OSTs are better than today's music, which I agree on.

    Rant incoming!
Today's music commonly is about love or anything, but they don't invoke the emotion needed (unless you are one of the people who understand lyrics because you relate). If you listen to VG sountracks, the atmosphere is there, as well as the story behind it. It will be better to hear especially if you've played the game.

    Ejemplos:
SCP Containment Breach is a horror game and most of its soundtracks are downright horrifying to listen (except for one, "On Mount Golgotha" hurts my ears).
In Portal, "Caroline Deleted" starts off as peaceful and then suddenly shifts to a completely different mood.
In Portal again, "I'M NOT A MORON!" is so chipper and happy until a plot twist happenes and it shifts to a different key... I think.
In TF2, the first part of "The Art of War" tells you that a votation is in place.
In Minecraft, any of C418's calm songs tells you you are very much safe!

Any of your favorite video game soundtracks will remind you of the most epic boss fight in the whole world, or the time James Bond saved the girl. It may bring tears to you, too. TLDR version: it's more memorable than vocal songs if you are a fan of that game/movie/whatever.

Am I the only person who likes instrumental more than vocals?

No you aren't, that's why I liked songs from the 90s, 80s and before, because bands such as Queen always had instrumental parts. Same thing for OST's, especially Halo 2's, because they give me a sense of nostalgia.
