Hey guys, pk here, So I appreciate that I've only recently come back, and that a lot of people have left and a lot more people have joined in the couple of months I was out. So to those of you who have known me for a long time, you might have seen this as a long time coming, and to those of you who've known me even longer, and I mean before the old forums existed, you might remember me doing something similar to this. However I feel its time for an update, and I'm totally not doing this because @~Wolf did one a few days ago. Nooooo, not at all. . . -Elliot
Well, it can be pretty difficult but simplistic at the same time. It's a language with entirely regular and phonetic spelling. Our place names may look complicated but once you know the rules, you can learn to read and pronounce Welsh fairly easily. One problem that Welsh has in comparison to English is the addition and removal of different letters. In Welsh, we have the letter 'Ch', which is pronounced like a cat hacking up a hairball, such as 'Loch' Ness Monster. We also have the letter 'Dd', pronounced 'th'. Think saying the word 'the', but without the ending 'e' sound. We also have the 'Ll' letter, which is made by placing your tongue the way you would say the letter 'L' and hissing out of the side of your mouth. We also have letters 'Rh', 'Ng', 'Th' and 'Ph', which are only used in mutations. Mutations are formed when the first letters of words are changed when there is another word in front of them, the change of letter, or 'mutation' allows the word to be said easier in common speech, as the Welsh speak quite quickly. For example, in Welsh, if you want to say 'I live in Cardiff.', you'd think you'd say 'Rydw i'n byw yn Caerdydd', however because of the mutation rules, it'd be 'Rydw i'n byw yng Nghaerdydd'. This is the most basic of rundowns, there are a lot more rules, but its the kind of language that looks hard to learn, and when you first start it seems hard, but I come from the deep south of Alabama and I aced it, getting a 95/100 in my finals. So to answer your question, it's not as bad as some of the other languages at hand :P -Elliot
There's no amazing behind this to be honest, pkmuldoon is just the standard username my father gives to characters in games. Originally we just shared the Minecraft account until he got bored of the game, and I've just adopted the profile for myself now :P
