Minecraft anyone here modding experts?

in need some help. i want to install sonic ethers unbelievable shaders mod, and im afraid to cause i dont want to break my minecraft and most inportantly, my computer. does anyone have any idea on how i can do this? and if their is any way i cant install it for 1.8?

The only way I can think is that you backup your MC files first, so maybe make a copy of the .minecraft folder and put it somewhere safe on your computer.
Then install the shaders mod as you would normally (by putting the folder into mods file, or use the installer, etc..) and it should work, if it breaks your MC then you have a copy safe and ready to use.

As for the computer thing, it shouldn't break your computer (If it's the new one you have) Mines extremely slow sometimes, and it works for mine just fine. but I'm not sure (it would depend spec wise I think)

And finally, there are ways you can install it for 1.7 and below, check things like PMC and The Minecraft Forums.

 

How to install forge
------------------------
Step 1: Get forge at http://www.minecraftforge.net/forum/index.php
Step 2: Save the file, and open the folder, then drag the file to your desktop
Step 3: Double Click
Step 4: Just say yes to everything they ask (don't worry, there are no viruses)
Step 5: You should now have forge
Step 6 (optional): Open up the Minecraft launcher, go to Versions, and go to (insert version here) Forge, if you have that, you have got forge

How to install mods
------------------------
Step 1: Go to the website where your sonic mod is and download it, I recommend downloading from either ad.fly or mediafire
Step 2: Save the file, open the folder, and drag the file to your desktop
Step 3: Open up your .Minecraft folder
Step 4: If you installed forge correctly, there should be a new folder named "Mods", go into that folder
Step 5: Drag the mod into that folder
Step 6: Open Minecraft, make sure you are playing in (insert version here) Forge
Step 7: Start Minecraft
Step 8: If done correctly, the bottom left corner of your start screen should say "4 mods installed"
Step 9 (optional): Go into the new tab on the title screen, right next to the "Options" setting, it should be named "Mods", check and see if the mod is listed on the mods list.
Step 10: Enjoy!

IMPORTANT!!
Some mods may not work well with your game, and it might crash on startup, if this happens, remove the mod from your mod folders, and try to find another version of it.
