When I told my parents I didn't want a quinceañera unless I'm able to wear a suit (like you know, a business suit) instead of the traditional large-ass dress and not have like any dancers and stuff like that, they gave me a funny look.

You have to remember parents are very rooted it tradition, once you're in a habit, it's very difficult to get out of it, especially if you've been doing it your whole life.
