I personally just use the pokemon I catch, and then compare their stats and see what goes best.
I don't have a uber team, I prefer to battle with simple pokemon. (Latios does not count as a uber, I actually researched :p)

-Mightyena (High attack, good for defending Swampert)
-Swellow (Very powerful ganker)
-Machamp [Still getting to it] (Very powerful attack)
-Manectric [Might switch away, but I have heard he is rather powerful]
-Latios (Great special attack, heals teammates)

 

I accidentally killed Deoxys using Dragon Ascent, thinking it was only going to put it on critical health. -_-

I has shiny metagross with the mega stone. The online mystery gift thing, right? I just don't use it since, eh. It is way too overpowered, and chances are it will be banned on online competitive battling, or so I assume, so I don't want to get too attached to it.

Also, as I do with every pokemon game, I set out a few goals for myself, here are mine:

• Catch every pokemon you can get in both games
• Get up to $999999
• Spend 100 hours into the game

Couple questions./suggestions though:

Is Skarmory your trap setter?
Magentric is spelled Manectric
For a fire type, I suggest either: Talonflame, Houndoom/Ninetails, or Primal Groudon with his ability and the fact he can use fire type moves.

 

I accidentally killed deoxys the first time too, but you get another chance. After defeating the elite four and the champion twice, go to the mossdeep space center second floor, listen to what the people have to say, then go to the top of sky pillar. That's how i caught deoxys.

 

1. Mainly my flier. but he will also have spikes and stealth rock, so yes
2. Oh
3. I might go with Houndoom/Ninetails (not sure which is in AS), as I try and use pokemon that were in the originals

I don't really like using legendary pokemon, so that rules out Groudon for 2 reasons (I have AS and I dislike legendarys)

 

I dislike using legendaries competitively. Otherwise, I'm cool with 'em. And FYI Deoxys is technically a legendary. I also have alpha sapphire, and I suggest you get the shiny metagross. c:

 

Ik deoxys is a legendary, I am deoxys... I might get shiny metagross, but that is if I decide that I want to use good pokemon, usually I decide to use crap ones to make the game harder

 

I got the shiny beldum, but i didn't care enough to train it. Maybe i will after i get my Reshiram to lvl 100

 

Reshiram can be shiny in ORAS

I caught reshiram in a masterball because i was tired of switching my party around, saving, and then taking 20 minutes to catch a legendary.

 

Sort of lost. I only played it for 2 days (Finished the storyline within that timeline). How do you get shiny reshiram? Is there a way to get shiny zekrom?

 

Yes, when you are in front of this ring that activates encounter and just save then keep that encountering and soft resetting till shiny.
