holy shit Vaicun actually made a thread in the Minecraft section?

I got permission from a staff member to make this thread so

So um, yeah, hi guys, Vaicun here.

Pretty surprising I made a thread in the MC section after I left Minecraft for good, isn't?

Since the name changing update is getting released soon (I think, like I said I stopped playing Minecraft and I'm no longer updated with the game information) I thought I should make this guide to help those who want to change their IGN but struggle to find one.

First of, let's start with what you don't put in your IGN

- numbers, just... no. Do not use numbers.

- do not include a name of a fandom, like a tv show, band or anything else in your IGN. Because in the future, you might leave the fandom and then your IGN will be meaningless to you.

- do not put your last name in your IGN. Do I really need to explain why?

- any racist, inappropriate or offensive content... just... no. Don't do that. You might think it's "funny" at first but then you'll realise how fucking dumb it is.

- IGN's that include the words Herobrine, Steve, Notch, etc, are just too overused. Don't use them.

Stuff that are okay to put in your IGN, but you probably shouldn't

- underscores, these aren't that bad but you probably don't want to use them if you want an original IGN.

- your real name... it's not that bad but you might regret that in the future (take me for example. One of the main reasons I bought a new MC account was because I felt so fucking uncomfortable with everyone knowing my real name)

Stuff you should include in your IGN

- just be original. Again, take me for example, my IGN is Vaicun. Which is a word me and my friend made. It's original, and creative (self appreciation woopwoop).

- you can use this website for original ideas for your IGN.

- keep in mind that by saying "original IGN", I don't necessarily mean 1 made up word. IGN's with 2 words that aren't made up but make a funny/interesting/mysterious/whatever sentence are also hella cool.

Even though Mcc457 breaks those guidelines, and I've been told it's silly, I like it...

 

I look at Vaicun's picture and see over 4,000 likes, and he has like 3,000 messages.
If my mind can comprehend this, he has about 1.33333333333 likes per comment.
(Not joking)

 

But...
I like my username.
It has an underscore in it.
(My Alt's name is getting an underscore too)

 

So... ur basically telling people what to name their minecraft character?
I know that sounds like its coming out harsh but its true. I agree with most of what you said, be original, don't steal other names but you don't have to follow this list. If they decide they want their name to be "SkyDoesMinecraftLova6" (idk :P ) or "BobThe****er" then so be it. All I would say is to just be original.

 

I will forever stay in my fandom.

My IGN would probably be: SeraThe5thBeatle or Starrison.

That's why I like my osu name and stuff. I could have done better for my IGN, but meh. I don't really plan on changing it. And, I remember your old account. Am I special yet?!

I'm not trying to force you guys to follow this guide, I'm just giving you tips on how to pick an original IGN
If you like your current IGN and it "broke" one of the rules, it doesn't matter. If you love then hell, who am I to tell you you should change it to something else?

Seriously? Mine is staying as Greeney8.
Greeney is a word I made and like how it is spelt that way + my old favourite number was 8 but its now 69
Greeney + 8 = Me
Greeney would just be... hard to explain well I like my old favourite number.
