Old Survival (2012-2013)

Remember those good times ;-; and all of our saves were corrupt (I had an enderchest filled with stacks of diamond blocks ;-;). I met most of my friends there, and because of that, I joined the (old) forums July 2013.

I still remember doing "Daily Diamond Drops" where I drop the so many stash of diamonds I had to the public. I remember helped turning STONEHENGE into a practical city with a party house and 3 hotels.

What was your best memories of old survival?

I was in HyperSpark and got to like number 12 or something in baltop...
They should bring baltop back its awesome :)
Before being in HyperSpark I remember being in a really derpy faction which was just me and I did parkour contests
People would pay 1 iron to do it and the first person to finish gets 3 iron...
I made a profit and I thought it was loads but it was just a tiny bit of iron xD

This was the server's prime for me even though I had like no friends from the forums or well known I just had a ton of fun.

The good times

 

I got 8 beacons, then I starting lagging. Then I found a way to get into survival with the four that were in.

Hmm, my memories of old survival...delivering horses to STONEHENGE (and watching DiDi drop them along the way).

The failed "Rainbow Sheep Spawn Invasion of 2013". @DiDiPython , @dmudstheaddict and I found a random platform in the ocean, with a farm full of rainbow sheep. We were going to fly them over spawn as a prank. And not 10 blocks away from the begging of the mountain, the server crashes...and no one but us heard about it ever again xD

The old survival spawn, because it was fucking amazing.

Being the second ever to find Hai's secret Weed farm...because Didi was a bitch ;n;

 

I remember building a tiny hut and eating a carrot... but that was the last 10mins of the survival before they took it away.

 

the file for survival became corrupted and it got deleted.

Oh god, the old survival...Pretty much my best memories of the server. Honestly, back then was when 100 or so people online at once were considered excessive, and the minigames could pretty much be made with any old plugin.
Anyways, I remember how relaxed everyone was back then. There were rarely any arguments, barely any spam, everyone was just chilling and relaxing.
It seems I followed in practically everyone else's footsteps on the old server. At first I only played minigames, but slowly I began to realize the presence of Survival. I remember there being practically no land to live on, and I ended up taking residence on an small man made island. I invited all my friends, and we lived derpily on a plot that was barely 18 by 10.
Then I began to branch off into the much bigger area. I began making an actual island, complete with a storage room, a head museum for all donators, that at the time was the biggest on the server, housing around 60 or so heads. Although it was still my own little faction, I began making derpy little skin contests involving dirt and elimination by falling into the water. It wasn't much, but I was happy.
Then came what I still consider my happiest times on the server. I made a brand new skin contest taking place almost at the sky level, featuring a huge drop, and later I added a parkour for a special consolation prize, too. I created a true or false area, which became pretty popular as well, and I also created the Tower of Terror, still one of my favorite creations of all time in Minecraft just due to the resources I needed to gather. I even set up a system, I'd host two skin contests, two t/fs, and one tower of terror every week. Sadly, I only had about a month to enjoy it before the reset.
I still hate mentioning that preliminary reset, as I felt like it ended my enjoyment. Although I enjoyed my time in EnderTacos greatly, and even the small time I spent on Rogue was nice, I feel like nothing will ever live up to the enjoyment of the original survival.

Does anyone remember the infinite potato dispencers lol

 

Basically, this was one of my greatest moments at the server. My old friends was there.
I also remember I've spammed the potato dispensers at spawn xD.
I also remember the old survival had some commands that were removed did exist, like /chair, /pig, which spawned a pig and a carrot on a stick (which I've used for infinite food source).

If you mean the VERY FIRST...
well it's more special.

I found my first pack of diamonds EVER in the first Survival. The Faction I was in was The Knights 2.0. It was a friendly faction, that was sharing land with Noob something faction that was supposedly special in some way. I went to the Nether for the first time, got to wave 50 and completed MA all before IJAH 2.0. It was spectacular. The first time I ever saw a rule breaker -I MEAN EVER, Rule breakers were SO RARE for the first few months, there weren't any until this guy came in- was when he tried to trick everyone into typing /f leave. I did it, and luckily the owner of the fac was online, so I explained it to him, and I rejoined. Sometime in between, Jerry came online and wanted to see if anyone had questions. He told me to look up the crafting for a brewing table. I instead asked some other people, but he didn't realize it. Instead, he YELLED at me like a meanie ;-;
So, it was...rough I guess. But it was spectacular.

it's not annoying. Everyone who left the forums were all in the "Old Survival". There, everyone had fun, there were barely any hackers and rule breakers. Almost everyone obeyed the rules and made survival fun. J&H today is filled with hackers with many J&H veterans gone. The old times were the best times. I suggest you look at the old survival before you say it's annoying again.
