In case you didn't know, Five Nights at Freddy's 2 is the prequel to the first game. This is because of multitude of things that are mentioned in the first and second game. 1. The phone guy is alive since this is set before the first game, as at the end of the message on Night 6 he says he might take the night shift himself, and in the first game he says he's finishing up his last week. This explains how he is in the second game. 2. When you beat Night 5, your paycheck's date is 11-12-1987 as this is set in the past, which means this was set before the Bite of '87 mentioned in FNAF 1 This is supported as the message on Night 6 also mentions a yellow Freddy suit was stolen, which was used in the to kill the 5 children in the first game There's many other explanations as to why this is a prequel, but these are just the main ones
I changed the thread to something else since something like this was done already. Also, there's a bunch of other pre-set modes for the Custom Night so this isn't the only one
I noticed since I saw someone beating the 5th night and the date was 1987, which caused the comments section to go crazy
No, I saw a Youtuber finish it and there's already a bunch of images of the end screen floating around
1) The game was made by 1 developer, so 1 voice actor 2) When did the bite of '87 take place? Also: Not convincing enough, a baby can edit the wiki
Yes but what you Haven't mentioned is that the trailer said that the Animatronics were REBUILT. And that Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria was REOPENED. Yes this is confusing, But what I believe is that the first game was taken maybe a few months before this, although the one year shut-down of the restaurant and the cheque in the first game suggests a different theory. Although what you're saying does make sense, and what some believe to be correct, either story fits in with the storyline, yet does not make sense, if the trailer hadn't been created that way, and the animatronics were not rebuilt, the pizzeria have more rooms, The phone guy says 'No doors this time', Your theory would be correct, but I'm afraid that there is no answer just yet. We'll just have to wait for Scott's confirmation if this game is before or after the first one.
It could be. But I have some questions. One. How did the old animtronics get there? Two. The phone guy states about the old place and how they moved the animtronics here. Three. The things @PoppyHarrSmyth said. Four. "Welcome back to the new and improved Freddy Fazbear's Pizza! In Five Nights at Freddy's 2, the old and aging animatronics are joined by a new cast of characters. They are kid-friendly, updated with the latest in facial recognition technology, tied into local criminal databases, and promise to put on a safe and entertaining show for kids and grown-ups alike! What could go wrong? As the new security guard working nights, your job is to monitor cameras and make sure nothing goes wrong after-hours. The previous guard has complained about the characters trying to get into the office (he has since been moved to day-shift). So to make your job easier, you've been provided with your very own empty Freddy Fazbear head, which should fool the animatronic characters into leaving you alone if they should accidentally enter your office. " Taken directly from the Greenlight page. It says the "Previous guard complained about the characters trying to get into the office" meaning that Mike (Chances are he was the old guard because even the phone guys said about the previous guard) complained which got him fired, but then rehired but on a day shift. But you never know. I could be very wrong.
Pretty sure the old, withered animatronics break this theory. Unless they re-built them, but i highly doubt this because the phone guy said "They started to put new technology in them, but they we're just so smelly and old, so they decided to re-design them completely". Also it said in the drawings "Welcome to the NEW Freddy Fazbear's pizza". And in the first game, it was obvious that the building was fairly old, shown by the cobwebs. In the new game, everything looks brand new, and shiny.
Besides the theories that are already stated, there is another main one that says the place had already been operating prior to the second game (which explains the "old" animatronics, as in the first game the Phone Guy says they've been running for 20 years) and that the place was reopened. The reason there are old animatronics are because they are from the previous location (not the pizzeria in the first game) and are used for parts (this is from the Night 2 message,) which also explains why their designs are a bit different from those in the first game. Another reason that many people use is the pay, since the game is set earlier the pay fits in with the time period while in the first game the pay is mediocre due to inflammation. The reason the trailer says Rebuilt is that the new animatronics were built to replace the old ones from the previous location. Going to what @Potato® said, the voice acting doesn't really matter since it is the same guy in both games, and the Bite of '87 likely took place after the second game since on Night 6 the Phone Guy says a yellow Freddy suit was stolen and there was an investigation taking place. I'll end this off with this picture which you get after beating Night 6 (pay attention to the second paragraph.)
My theory is that there were THREE versions of the store The first, featured the old animatronics, and was called Fazbear's Family Pizzeria, or something like that. The second is the setting in FNAF 2, the store was bought by a richer place, and they created the new animatronics. Now on the 6th night, phone guy tells us that you have to supervise a birthday party the morning after. This is probably when the Bite of 07 occurred, and the main character is the witness and suspect. They are forced to shut down the new animatronics and use the old ones instead, for a new store in FNAF 1
BUUUUUUUUUUUUUT On one of the phone calls, Phone guy says "Forget about anything you've heard about the old place" (something along the lines) So maybe it could be new.
SOLID FACTS: 1) A few logs hint at the game being a prequel to the first game such as; The first game mentions in the first call “They used to be allowed to walk around during the day, but not anymore.” and in the second game it says “They are allowed to roam around even during the day” among other hints in the calls. 2) None of the animatronics look anything like the first game, almost as if concepts of designs were taken and made less scary to be more kid friendly. 3) The owners in the first game are cheap, as if they are having to save money due to having spent too much money. 4) You get more money in your paycheck in your first game than in the second, like inflation would cost your minimum wage to go up. 5) The check in the second game has the date of 11-12-87 on it. The first game mentions the “bite of ‘87” and the second game makes no mention of the bite of ‘87, so the bite must have happened during or after the events of the second game. 6) The first call in the second game mentions that the “old” animatronics were being retrofitted with SOME of the new animatronic software. Not necessarily all of it. 7) The calls mention the name of the old DINER (not pizzeria) called something like Fazbear’s Family Diner. 8) The morning shift suddenly becomes open and the phone guy SAYS he will “probably take the night shift himself”. The first game starts with him explaining that “I used to be the night guard before you, but this is my last week.”, also explaining how he was still alive until night 4 of the first game in which he is then killed. 9) A call mentions that someone has stolen a golden Freddy outfit. Also, the cops are beginning an investigation by night 4/5. 10) The animatronics in the first game were not phased by flashing lights yet the new ones apparently are as a shut off protocol. 11) Cut scenes show the first game’s animatronics and the Chica you see looks nothing like the “old” one. Story being pieced together: The story begins as you are now working to guard this new Pizzeria in 1987. You watch the animatronics and attempt to survive as things begin to transpire in the morning. By night 3 or 4 someone has stolen a yellow Freddy suit. As in the lore of the first game, this may mean the morning employee has taken the suit to lure kids into the back closet to kill them. By night 6, the morning shift is open and you are asked to work it for a birthday party if you are able to make it through night 6. The phone guy then takes over while you work the next morning until the business is then shut down for a time. Upon returning, the phone guy takes the night shift and is killed on night 4 of his shift. The first game’s events then transpire where Mike learns about some of these things but is then fired due to “tampering”. Speculation: -The first guard employee took the suit and began killing/kidnapping children after asking to be moved to the morning shift. -The bite of ‘87 wasn’t a child, but the employee who attempted to steal a 6th child but was stopped in his attempt by an animatronic who had earlier in the week seen him take a child and in response, due to being connected to the criminal database, bit off his frontal lobe to protect the children. -The animatronics were upgraded and new exoskeletons made in their design as an attempt to replace the cute animatronics, which were confiscated for the police to investigate the deaths and missing children. -The company by the first game is now in a lot of debt to pay for getting the new exoskeletons, dealing with police, paying the families of the dead children, etc. and must save power and money to keep running at this point. -The building was refitted with doors and some areas torn down or replaced in the time the place was closed for investigation to prevent future disaster involving employee death. -The reason the phone guy is afraid of the old animatronics is that the old business they were in had been closed for some time DUE to incidents involving the animatronics becoming hostile or malfunctioning due to the time being when animatronics were first being made and tested. -The tampering done in the first game may have been done by the marionette, who seems to have some influence on the events of the first game due to cut scenes then revealing he was there. -The marionette took the souls of children and put them in the first game’s suits, thus “giving life” as in the mini game does. Pretty much sums up everything I've said already. I also agree with what @Polardrago said since that's how it seems to be. There was a diner before the pizzeria in the second game which featured the old animatronics and the new animatronics were built to replace it. The yellow Freddy suit was stolen and likely used to kill the 5 children mentioned in the first game and it's also likely that the Bite of '87 happened after the second game (probably after Night 6). The pizzeria was then closed down and eventually it reopened using the old animatronics from the diner. This is when the first game takes place. So the storyline is that there was a diner that was bought and reopened in the second game but eventually it closed down and was reopened yet again using the old animatronics. I wouldn't be surprised if FNAF 3 took place in the diner.
Mhm. This thread is correct. Just read the newspaper: (this was taken from a markiplier video in which he beats the 6th night)
