person1: Here's my staff app: (Insert long and overly detailed application here)

person1'sfriend: OMG best app ever you should be picked

person1'sotherfriend: Nice application, but I only found one mistake via enters between questions. Good luck!

    Then this guy comes in.

person2: Despite the comments above, there are a few spelling and grammar errors. Also, you didn't explain important details in your application and made too many enters to make it seem longer than it would've with just 1 or 2. Fix these errors and it'll seem good. GL!

Here's the point. A person can make a staff application and get good reviews from multiple friends, making their staff app have better reviews and get more popular (Not that it's such a big deal.). The problem here is that they don't even know what their mistakes are until the guy that actually reads it over and finds mistakes.

It's just something I don't like, not trying to start a drama thread or whatever. It's just something that bugs me that I wanted to get out there. Thanks for taking your time to read this.

If the person is staff material, they won't be blinded by his/her friends' comments.

You never seem to get the point. I'm just staing something I don't like. Why is it that every time I make this kind of thread, you always turn it in a different direction?
EDIT: Since you said "staff material" you didn't read this thread. I'm just stating that someone can be lead in the wrong direction unless that certain person2 comes in and says what they've done wrong.

Ok, how about I say this: We have so many application drones that there always is a person 2. So what's the issue? Are you pointing out that it's bad for the person that made the app to feel good until person 2 comes along? Or is it bad that they don't know what they did wrong?
Well thank you captain obvious. That's what we have application drones for.

If you are going to make a thread like this that poses an issue, expect people to respond with opinions that contradict yours.

If you wanted this to go in a certain direction, you are forgetting that people are have a variety of opinions and are bound to lead discussions in different directions.

Wait! There is a solution! Lock your thread after you make it, and then people will not be able give their own input.

Alt accounts are satanic to the people who actually would be good staff, who don't have like 12 emails.

    The second one.
And, if you're going to call me names like that, then keep them to yourself. Of course I know there's locking, and I know people are going to argue. In the way you do it, you never read the whole paragraph, and think that you can post whatever you want and think you can get away with it, all the while you post it on every thread I make. Oh wait, there's a solution! Something bothers you? Ignore it. If you did, this would have never started.

Actually, I agree. In order to be a good staff you need to know and recognise the mistakes you have made.
If people tell you what you have done wrong sometimes can be too much.
I guess if you say 'You have some spelling mistakes, but good luck!' - that is alright.
But some people give too much information on it.
If the person applying wants to be a good staff, they can't have people constantly correcting them.
    If this makes sense.

As you made your opinion on something that concerned you, I made mine. I did read the paragraph, and I comment on all your threads because
I'm not trying to be harmful in anyway, and I respect the message you are trying to convey. Yet, I am just saying that this is normal. You can't prevent people from commenting on their friends apps. Also, there is no use in complaining about something that can't be fixed, especially since it's normal for friends to support each other. Sometimes it sucks that friends sugar coat things, even when it may hurt the person. In our world, people can't handle the truth or else you make them "stressed out" or "depressed," so it is socially acceptable to let the issue grow and hurt the person more when it surfaces by itself. Can we do anything about that? Possibly, but will people be willing to change? No. Society deems short term goals as more important than thinking ahead. Basically, each friend makes his/her own decisions, and there is nothing that's going to change that.

It would make more sense to present an issue that can actually be fixed, so I disliked this thread when I figured out what it was about. Does everyone go around posting threads about what they dislike? No. Only the occasional thread comes when it is an important issue that can be resolved.

Say this issue was to be fixed, and friends gave more constructive criticism on staff applications, would it change anything? No. Staff would be picked the same way as before. As you said, person 2 eventually comes along and points out the flaws. Whether the friends or person 2 does it, it doesn't make a difference.

    This thread is null.
