I'm guessing a person's mindset when they see a leaving thread is "Oh well he will be back soon." I mean how many times has a person posted a leaving thread and either made a long-term or permanent departure successful? Few have. It is influence. Most people will think leaving threads will mean a temporary departure nowadays since they still see the departing person online. It depends on the person who made the leaving thread. We as individuals don't know everyone well in this community except for a couple of best friends we talk to alot. If you don't know someone well who made a leaving thread, it is hard to determine if they are keeping their word or not.

Just because you are staff, doesn't really mean you get to bend those rules.
In my own opinion, you should have made a longer post to begin with.

I would have worded my post a LOT differently if trying to make it out he done did bad.
It's a neutral example. Not good nor bad. Yes, it may put him in the spotlight because he did what Pyro was saying in the first post.

Buuuuuut.
If he didn't make a leaving post and come back, wouldn't that mean he would be used as an example.
Actions result in consequences sometimes. And ssssssssssssslight, 0.01% public humiliation could be counted.
Do you really think people reading this are going to go up to him and go 'eww, you left and came back. You're a horrible member'?
