First time on server with new host. On a computer with terrible Internet (thanks dad). A good connection. This host may just be good. O3O
Whatever host they use, it will never be perfect for everyone. It really depends on where you live and how good your internet is. Many other major minecraft networks also use OVH, I don't see any players complaining there. I get a better connection to the server. But it might be because there is a CDN(content delivery network) point only a couple of hours away from where I live. You can view and see OVH's network and see their CDN points around the world here, but don't worry if there isn't one near were you live(you will still get connected to the server). You can see how close their network is away from you, and see whether that might be causing the lag. You're obviously going to get more lag the further away the server is(Montreal, Canada), or how far away an OVH CDN point is from you. We're just going to have to stick to what host we have got. There isn't much ItsJerry/ItsHarry can do. As RadeonX said, we have got the best we can. OVH is also one of the biggest and best server providers in the world. They're #3 in the world(I think) and #1 in Europe.
What exactly is the problem? Is it latency, lag spikes, etc? Maybe the problem is caused by something else
I'm just getting constant lag. Players will suddenly stand still for long periods of time and I am always getting lag backs. Also, for some reason I cannot sprint without glitching at least once. Chat also lags a lot in the lobby. When I go on other servers like MinePlex ext. I don't lag at all.
Sorta offtopic, but my closest point is Singapore. ._. There seems to be points located near the people who are lagging, maybe that's a problem? Idek.
Or you could just deal with the lag, move, or play on another server, not everything has to be made just for you, sorry. :(
@ItsHarry @ItsJerry Sorry for bringing up the same problem again. The trace route is sent for many times, and the lag still comes up, like, 4000ms. I know you have already did your best, and I totally understand your feelings. More than 1 minute is used to load these chunks, and I can barely move on the map. I think, ehh, maybe you really need to look into these connection problems because they seems to be abnormal. (e.g. USA get bad pings) (I get ping from USA for about 250-300. But why I get ping from Canada for 10-15x more? They are not far from each other, aren't they?)
I honestly don't get what you guys are talking about. It's far away from me and yet I get THIS PING. It's just YOUR INTERNET and where it is, not the host's. It's mainly happening to the USA people.
Can we just go back to the Host, before all this started. Dident this start, by some sort of cable... Im sure they fixed it by now. Crap that 2x post :( sorry :P
