Maintenance Mode?!?!

I see the server is in maintenance mode... How long will that last? Are they adding new things? Answers please :D

 

They are changing hosts.
It should be down for only another 10-14 hours. :/

Finally! I really hope this new host can handle 1000+ players! I'm sick of timing out and losing Protection IV and Sharpness V! I'm sick of not being able to break an obsidian block only once :D

According to a staff member, the server *can* hold up to 5k players.

The current host *can* handle 1k players. It just doesn't run as well :P
Harry mentioned the host having better hardware (or something), so it *should* run better c:

BeastNode?
McProHosting?
GGServers?

 

Our old hosts were:
Staminus
LimeStone Network <<< This one was known for making frequent "timeouts".
I only know these two...

Not as of yet, but like when we switched to Limestone, it won't be long until someone finds out. They always do.

 

Now if only we could know the specs of the new host ;)

 

Now I know what hosts not to go with when I start my server... Yeah that day won't be soon O_O

Since the server is in mid-switch, it'll be a while before anyone knows about what host we're on.

 

I absolutely love how they decide to do this on a Friday... When people get off school and come to play.

 

I will do immediate tracert and ping and a series of network tests when we can know that.
My global ping tool are very powerful.
@ItsHarry You may want that. lol

EDIT: I can trace the host provider's name most of the time... I know a global trace tool that have a huge database, containing most of the providers' names. (Unfortunately, not in English.)

No. Never do that. EVER.

 

The server did start switching when they left for school (according to Netherlands times)...
So, just be glad they didn't do it over the weekend.

When they started at ~4pm my time, Harry said 20 hours downtime (I think).
It's now 11pm.
13 more hours to go, I guess.

 

They are just being EXTRA cautious, if they said the actual time, if it went over just a little, they'd get absolutely pounded and screamed at

 

Nah, they extended time on some other maintenance. lloll
