I've been looking and I came across "application drones" and I was out in a conversation. I want to know what you guys think? Vote or even comment. I'm sorry if I was an application drone.
tbh I don't look at staff apps but if you're asking if you're an application drone then you most likely are one.
I want peoples opinions am I one if just because I want peoples opinions stating that I'm or not. That's all I'm asking.
You have posted 147 items on this forum since you joined on the 26th of July, 2014. That's about 62 days ago depending on timezones, meaning you've posted about twice a day on average. Your post count is 135, which means you have posted 12 times where it doesn't increase your post count. In your case they are all profile posts. 90 of those posts are in the staff application section, including your own application as I can't be bothered to work out how many are on your application and subtract them from that total. Most of these posts are giving people tips from what I bothered to look at. 90 is over half your posts of 135, two thirds to be exact. That leads me to conclude that you probably spend over half your time here in the staff application section giving tips. TL;DR - Yes you are an "application drone".
Consider it yourself. Do you comment on many apps in the same way? Do you just say something like "follow __ and ___'s advice and you should be fine. Good luck!" ? Well, if you do, then maybe you are. No need to make a thread about it, since it is completely pointless. It's like people making threads asking people if they hack. Those threads are completely pointless because if someone doesn't hack, they know they don't hack. Other's opinions are useless since they don't see the minecraft folder. Plus, they are looking for the answer of "no, you just have skills." Since you comment on these forums, you have the capability to determine if you are one or not. Making a thread like this just makes it worse for you due to the fact you are bringing public attention to it. Now if you are a drone, there is nothing wrong. All you have to do is make different comments with meaningful advice that no one else has given on a particular staff application. In your poll, you voted for no. So, what were you looking for when making this thread if you already think you are not one?
An application drone is someone who posts on many applications with the same advice or advice that basically just says to do what others have said such as "Do what ___ said to do, and you should be fine. Good luck." The motive is normally to raise post count, but there can always be more.
You are completely right. And I do get where at some cases I am "application droning." But,at most of the times I only makes tips for those who need them. And for the good ones in my opinion I always comment the good things about them. I examine applications and write a very detailed script on what tips, pros, and cons;even then I give them a choice if they stating the don't have to do what I say they are just my opinions on the persons application. And my comments to those are not all the same as @JoeyBACONBacon said, that I literally copy and paste all the same comments. Well,I don't I look at each application and state my opinion letting the people choose if they really wanna do it or not. That's all I'm trying to say I'm not going overboard I'm just writing an whole explanation on what I have to say. [This is long sorry for that.] ~Fierce
@whazzupman33 I already asked that question. An application drone is a person who repeats what others had said. For example, an Application drone would be like, "Yea, like what others had said above"
