why does everyone think Talking Like This Is Annoying?

This is how 3rd Graders would Type if They didn't Understand How To Use caps.

It's A lot More difficult To Randomly press Caps And Type Like This than to Just type normally.

You press caps exactly one time to type this sentence.

You Press caps Exactly six Times to Type This sentence.

It's not hard to type normally. If you're doing something like a comic, typing incorrectly is one of the worst things that you can do in any art form.

Look at Xkcd, or The Oatmeal, or Cyanide and Happiness, or even Homestuck. They type normally, Not like This.

It really isn't difficult to do it the right way, and I don't get how someone who is 3 years older than I am can't type in a normal way. There's 9 year olds on here who type normally.

They find it annoying because everyone is anal about having good grammar even though it doesn't really matter

 

If they're from a different country, and can speak/type proper English, I understand. Or when they just are inactive, abd need quick help us fine. When they obviously know English (and yes there's a way to tell, even with improper grammar) and just completely disregard hang grammar usage and mechanics, it bothers me.

Lemme explain a bit deeper.

We all know what OCD is. If you don't, it basically means that if you don't like something, and you can't fix it, then you get anxiety to fix it. How? Well, some people don't like the lowercase letters. So, when typing/writing, they put It Like This. It just helps their OCD, and if you force them to stop, then they can possibly get hurt mentally.

Plus, this isn't English Class/Language Arts, this is a video game forum. If you want people to be told on their grammar, make sure to contact their Language Arts teacher and tell them. If you even find their LA teacher. Plus, just deal with it. You can't get everything the way you want it to be. People have their own methods of expressing communication. If you criticize someone on that, you're basically saying that the way they TALK is bad.

I wasn't talking about the "Grammar nazis". I was talking about The People Who Talk Like This. Ik the grammar nazis don't have OCD.

 

What causes OCD for me is stuff like:

i don't like you. (CAPS FOR THE FIRST THING GOSH)

You are stupid.I hate you. (IT SHOULD BE 2 SPACES BUT AT LEAST, LEAST, PUT ONE)

Some other things annoy me as well, but I'm just lazy right now. I'm always lazy. Okay. Bye.

 

The only time I find it annoying is when Some Types A Whole Staff Application Like This.

It would correct the horrible random capitalization instead of allowing you to type horribly.

 

Actually it doesn't, auto correct only corrects grammar errors (Apple products only I think) not punctuation. IDK maybe other auto corrects are different.

 

IT DOES NOT CORRECT GRAMMAR ERRORS. IT CORRECTS SPELLING ERRORS.

SPELLING IS HOW WORDS ARE SPELLED. GRAMMAR IS NOT SPELLING. IT IS THE STRUCTURE OF SENTENCES LIKE PUNCTUATION AND THAT SORT OF STUFF.

Example:

Dis is a sentens wit bad speling.

This, is sentence with an bad grammars.

Typing Like This Hurts My Eyes.
On the other hand, I won't publicly announce that I dislike the way the person types just because of that.

This is becoming way off topic, but then again, we are in the "Off topic section"
If you are arguing that being a Grammar Nazi is not OCD, you are wrong.
There are many many many different types of OCD out there, I've seen a lot of different people with different kinds. It's not just obsessing whether everything is even, or making sure you did everything. It can also be obsessing over hygiene, always doing something the same way, like if you were told to run for five minutes straight over a week, some people with OCD will run the exact same route every time. OCD is obsessing over anything, making it a habit. And feeling as if you'll get bad luck, you'll always doubt yourself, anxiety, anything like that, if you don't make sure the OCD is fulfilled.
It's different for everyone who has it.
Take Death The Kid from Soul Eater as an example. His OCD is probably a lot worse than you see daily, but it's OCD, not just a concern.
What I'm trying to say is that maybe some people type like that for a specific reason. Something they might not be able to fix.
Let's not flame, okay?

I love how everyone here is being one-sided over a common grammar mistake.

This is an international forum made for gamers from 8-18. Obviously, people aren't going to know Not To Do This. You mostly see it in posts by people below 12 years old, which is ok since you don't learn major grammar and spelling rules till 13-14 years of age. So please, lay off with the bashing.

But, that does not make it inexcusable for our senior members to make these mistakes. Especially if you've been active here for +1 month.
In my eyes, if you are 15 or older, have been in this community for 1-2 months, but reign from a non-English country, you should AT LEAST try to follow this rule, and that's not even the situation.
Most senior members who make this mistake come from english-speaking countries, and that is so inexcusable on so many levels. This is a public forum. Forums are usually used for intelligent people to converse and debate. If you are gonna Type Like This or Liek Dis #Twitter, you need to get your caucus out of here(Unless you do it as a joke, obviously), because people will bash you for your laziness.

There is no simple answer to this.

 

I'm a camp counselor for a computer camp in my spare time (somewhat). The kids play Minecraft. I can confirm that many of them "Talked Like This." All were of American origin. I didn't get it, and when I tried to ask them they couldn't give me a definitive answer.

As someone who is legitimately diagnosed with OCD, I can confirm that this post is inaccurate. OCD is a disorder that cuts into people's lives and can severely impact how they act.
Typing with capital letters isn't OCD because it isn't a major impact and wouldn't result in a diagnosis. People with OCD obsess about other things.
For example, I obsess over numerical symmetry and odd numbers. I go out of my way to make things occur in this matter. That's legitimate OCD because it cuts into my lifestyle.
Talking Like This wouldn't be OCD, it would be a personal preference.

Anyway, I'll give an opinion.
Like I said, I was a camp counselor for a while, and it saw kids type that like. I asked them, and they didn't really give me a response. I think it's just something they do to make their sentences stand out, if you ask me.
It annoys me slightly because I tend to view it as putting emphasis on every single word, but is don't hate on those who do it.
I just wonder why.
