When will the server update to 1.8?

I am really excited about the new update! I really want to play but can't because i cant find any good server to play on and also my laptop is too slow to play single player :(

 

They'll update soon don't worry, they're working on it
Just use 1.7 for a while now.

It's not completely under their control.
The server uses Spigot for its plugins.
They can't update until the plugins and Spigot itself update.

 

There are currently protocol hacks for BungeeCord that allow you to login using 1.8 clients. Now, that's up to Harry to apply to the server.

However, the actual underlying 1.8 structure, with the new blocks, new mobs, etc?
That will not be for a while.
Mojang, Bukkit, and Spigot are all dealing with a DMCA filed by one of Bukkit's largest contributors.

And until they can get that resolved, there will be no development on any 1.8 versions of these Minecraft servers, because the repositories where the code is held are currently suspended by Github due to the aforementioned DMCA.

Therefore, upgrading fully to 1.8 is not under anyone's control except for the US legal system.

The legal system here will take its course if Mojang / Bukkit choose to continue the legal battle (Spigot has backed out of the battle for now), and will decide the fate of 1.8 for this server (and all servers).

tl;dr: No 1.8 for possibly several months.

Why do other servers updated 1.8? I am not talking about Essentials or Vanilla servers, the other servers with plugins.
They already got updated to 1.8 , I have no idea how did they get updated..

MCOrigins and Hive are updated to 1.8, aswell as DubCraft

 

And other servers Like MineTime and plugin makers stuff.

Most likely 1.8 protocol hacks.

They most likely aren't ACTUALLY running 1.8, they're probably just emulating 1.8 for 1.8 client support, just like we did for 1.7 way back.

i am thinking that itsjerryandharry server is a minigames server, i think the problem that about when will it update to 1.8 will update later, this was not bad using 1.7

I am not either being a douche* , I am stating my opinion because of my point of view on what you posted.
Nobody is panicking because the server is not updated to the 1.8 .
The server is compatible for 1.8 however it doesn't added the other features of 1.8 like blocks, skin layers and other stuff.
But..

Nevermind, I was thinking about people panicking saying the server is not fully 1.8. It would pretty dumb to be be honest xD
