Rule of J&H (according to most forumers)

Exaggerated or not. Joke or not. I still find it offensive and so might a few other people.
Of course I'm not like going all up and out about because I don't want to make it a big deal. I know it's not true.
But not all jokes are funny to all people. That's the thing.

Most of this is ironically true. Literally if I disagree with someone on here, everyone calls me out on starting a 'flame war'.

Yes and I understood that. But you should also understand that not everyone takes a joke in the same manner. Not everyone will think it's as funny as you or your friends think it is.

 

Then again there have been a lot of joke threads that others outside of a group if people find not funny.
(The examples below are really nothing more than examples)
"Sataniesha" "Mappys van" "the THIS threads" are all good examples. People were offended in some cases, but the threads/jokes were created with good intent

Rule 14) When staff see a joke that is directed towards them, and its the least bit offensive, it's always heart-breaking and extremely offensive.

Seriously, this is cynical and rude, and even if I can be cynical and rude, this is overkill.

That thread was a joke. This post isn't. It's rude and offensive.

Maybe this thread is meant as a joke.
But this joke is a bad joke to make.
I'm disgusted.... In both this thread and the community's overwhelming and sudden support.
I agree that a lot of threads that have been called drama threads shouldn't have been.
But if I was a staff member, this would have been considered a drama thread from the moment I saw it.

I really miss the days that you people weren't so god damned nit-picky. Everything wrong with the community is all of a sudden the largest deal around (which I am being a hypocrite, because this was and still is me on occasion). But the worst part of all this? You complain. You don't try to make it better, you instead find ways to make it all sarcastic, and make this place an absolute shit hole.

What disgusts me most? People who claim to be mature, replying to this thread and agreeing with it. And then making their own rules, just because they feel the need to.

There is a time and place to express your opinions. This is sure as hell not one of them.

And, to go farther, you created this thread. Not them.

 

This has gone way too far, as stated by various others it can be a joke to some, but offensive to other people. Therefore to stop it going any further into the flame ish atmosphere it's become, it will be closed.

1. That's why the new guidelines will be more clear on whats considered bumping in a bad way and whats not...after all most forum communities also have rules that you should post on existing threads about a topic instead of spamming the list with more threads about the same topic. Obviously the two rules contradict. So we will have more clear guidelines soon, the final draft for the first release of it is being written atm.

2. Drama threads got that lable because they are made specifically for attention, or to stir up trouble over issues that you already know full well we already know about and are working on. Thus making the thread pointless and just noise that stirs up the problem and makes the problem WORSE instead of better. Its designed to attack the problem or keep "picking at it" much like picking at a scab on a cut. It doesn't help the community, it makes it worse.

3. This is a complete and outright lie. See number 2.

4. We have a warning system. So this statement is incorrect. Also, staff make mistakes. We correct them when we do. Otherwise why do we have ban appeals?

5. Who is saying that? Because that's a bit over the top.

6. Debating is ok. The problem is that most of you don't leave a debate as a debate. When personal attacks start instead of simple displays of facts, its no longer a debate.

7. Yes, see number 2. Threads about the EULA always degrade into arguments and are harmful to the community, since we can't get things to stay peaceful on those threads, they had to be asked to stop.

8. Double posting...there's an edit button, so there's very rarely a legitimate reason to double post. Now, if we spot an honest legit reason, thats fine...guidelines will be more clear on that later.

9. If I had my way, that system would be fully disabled; there's no point to it.

10. I find that offensive, so I would hope not. I personally would treat it as offensive if it were me.

11. Look around you. Look at the primary age group. Young people tend to view shorter times as "a long time ago" due to their lack of experience. Thats normal and not worth complaining over.

13. Once again, this is not true. Staff members screw up. Why do you think we have appeals? Why do you think we suspend staff that mess up enough?

About the staff & community issues. We don't mind you voicing that there's a problem, but there's a right time & place as someone said earlier. A big huge grand public spectacle is not necessary; all it does is take the very problems your complaining about, and make it much worse.

Not everything needs to be a great big grand public spectacle, so keep that in mind from now on. I've said it before and I'll say it again. You can always PM me all of these kinda problems and they will get taken care of. The problem is that only a very select few members actually bother to utilize this tool. Most people insist on making a huge public spectacle and making the community & staff problems worse than they already were.

If you want improvement so bad; then be that improvement and actually handle it appropriately yourself rather than stoop to their level.
