Am I the only one who thinks windows 8 is actually good ._.

 

Yepp. Useing windows 7 till it's out of support :D Can't say I'm dislikeing it but for powerusers 8 breaks the whole point of multitasking. For tablets it's great ofc but not on a desktop.

 

See, I'm a massive poweruser.

But I still like Windows 8 (There's actually features that make things easier for powerusers, you just have to know how to find it)

Now, honestly, I prefer 7. It's more tuned for a mouse-and-keyboard setup.
But, when I use Windows on my laptop (it's running Ubuntu 14.04 95% of the time, and Mac 1%), I use Win8, because it's a touchscreen laptop (and it came with 8).

Yes it's touch optimized. But for a new systembuild I wouldn't install it. If you got it for free you can tweak it right. But nah, not bought at all. I'm not one of those guys saying " I hate it because I can't use it" or "I hate it because I'm too lazy to learn it" It's just not my kind of interface. More the old fashioned kind of gui works best for me. Start -> Tool -> Done. XFCE or Compiz fits me best.

With modermix to run metro apps in windowmode and start8 I could switch. Without that 8 isn't my cake.

 

Nah, I completely understand you dude. My dad is the same way (he has Win8, but he HAS to use ClassicShell. Refuses to use the metro interface).

Gnome / Unity? are more of my cake. I like the dashboard in Gnome on Ubuntu 14.04, honestly :P

 

Windows 8 is more popular by far.

I mean really; 90% of students and teaches have no idea what they are doing on win 8.
On win 7 they did, sorta.
It was a big mistake for the government to make us update, and I wish we had the option not to.

 

Honestly, I'm not a big fan of Windows 8. They made it harder to find simple stuff
I've never used a Vista though...
I prefer Windows 7 out of all of them :>
