Actually, for your WPM they count how fast you typed the words. If you go in Practice Mode it depends on how fast you type them.

This typing speed isn't really accurate... you're just typing random words; I mean it'll help you a little bit, but real typing speed is the ability to be able to write sentences, with things like punctuation and/or numbers. I recommend NitroType as a better tool, on that website my typing speed is like an 89.

 

NitroType is indeed a little bit harder. I reached 90. :c
