Staff: Donators don't have any special privilege to break the rules all they like. If you break the rules, action is taken against you. It doesn't matter if you donated or not. So if a donator is banned, they do not get a refund. Even if that ban becomes permanent. So donators beware. The rules apply to you just the same. Don't think that being a donator gives you a free pass to be a jackass. Hopefully this clears up any misunderstanding. EDIT: Oh, and to be clear; this also means, you do not get a refund. At all. If you donate, then go be an asshat on the server so many times we have to perm ban you, like super hardcore, then you'll get perm banned. You'll have thrown away your money. gg
I thought this rule was always implemented. But meh, now it's official, maybe we'll see tons of attitudes improve x3
Oh, edited to add one final note: you don't get a refund for being an asshole after you donated. And yes, this has always been the rule, I'm just clarifying so donators will stfu about "omg I donated I cant be banned!" to scare nondonators.
So, that "omg I donated I cannot be banned nao" is reportable or not? Would that count as harassment since it's scaring nondonors? There won't be refunds anymore, even though you didn't do anything bad? Like, you paid and want the money back randomly but you didn't do anything wrong at all, just the refund. Anyway, nice job.
Well I don't know for sure that refunds are impossible, that's not my call to make. I was just clarifying that you cant get a refund just because you got banned. Its your responsibility to abide the rules when you play on the server or network anywhere, irregardless if you donated or not.
Well, they may not get a refund, but can't they still chargeback? Also...alright, I guess this is true then. Thanks for the thread.
ACTUALLY! When you chargeback like that, you are violating the terms of use for paypal. Your not actually supposed to chargeback like that just out of nowhere. That feature is designed for things like when a seller fails to deliver a product as promised or suchlike. The way players have been using it on the J&H server is actually fraud, and in the US, is a felony.
That is such a judgmental statement. That is the equivalent to say all boys are stupid because you know a single stupid boy.
Not necessarily. Most donators when they first donate, think that they can do whatever they want and spam. That's when they realize they are not immune and get kicked from the server. It is a judgmental statement, but it is not saying boys are stupid because you know a single boy. There are many donators who think they are immune and cause trouble. But thanks for clearing this up Roby. Plus, why even bother to pay real money to break rules on a video game? It is stupid in my opinion.
I don't think you understood what I was saying. I said that saying donators cause a lot of trouble is the Equivalent to saying all boys are stupid because you know a single boy who is stupid. I am Not saying boys are stupid.
You are saying that if he knows one donator does it that means all donators do it. That is what I am interpreting from your message. Let's not start a flame war and get off-topic here, ok?
I said nothing of "starting a flame war". I simply disagreed with you. Is that ok? On topic, I haven't witnessed this personally, but it may be a problem I just haven't encountered yet.
there is two problems with that logic a.) the goverment has bigger things to wory about then prosecuting an 11 year old over a minecraft server (example: DDoSing) b.) people dont care if it violates TOS or not. Other then that its a good idea and im glad that this issue is resolved!
Thanks for the official word about this situation Dao. I can get when someone donates that they think they are more powerful than others since they have perks that some people don't have. I'm glad some people think otherwise.
