Use bright colors when the forums has a dark background, like me in the old forums and I used this color .
Otherwise, if the background is white, use dark font.
Contrasting colors are very nice.
For guys who uses yellow or very bright text here, think about me and the other underpriveleged ones, I do have a bad phone. No one likes wasting time to reply and read your posts or copy+paste. It crashes my phone everytime I copy+paste, and you have no right whatsoever to call me a lazy person.

I use the good old black. Why? It is simple and I don't have to do a bunch of things to do it since I never like using my mouse when I type something.

 

I don't see why you'd want to use text colouring for entire sentences in the first place. It's pretty annoying, regardless of the colour, and you're not "special" by using them. Text colouring should be used to add quality to a post, not to ruin it's quality. Same goes for text size, italics, bold, and underlined.
Surely you wouldn't want to read a post entirely in bold, italics, an annoying colour, ridiculous size, and with an underline?

 

I would read it, but I agree.
Though it would make it stand out more, bold, blue, (or other colour) italic writing gets annoying...
It's good for titles, or emphasizing some words, though!
(But white is still pretty dang awesome, no doubting that.)

Cyan is my colour.

 

The only colours that I hate are yellow and white.
Erove's light grey italics are pretty easy to read.
UNLIKE @Marwan400 who constantly persists on using yellow, despite the fact that it causes a lot of people a lot of trouble to highlight, or in my case, copy, and paste, the words.

 

The Reason WHY I choose Purple is Not about my IGN or my Username.
My Personality is Balance and Neutral.
As people say, If you use a Bright colour like.. This.
With a Bright background, You can't read it Easily.
I use purple (This Purple) because It is a dark font, plus it shows my personality.

You could just highlight, people! That's not being lazy, and it takes like 1 second.

I don't really care about the way people write it because I just highlight :)

By the way, if you don't know what highlight is, just click and drag over the message! Really helps and works in yellow and white!

 

I have an iPad that I use to view the forums. The highlight isn't dark enough, and I actually have to copy and paste into a different application to read it.

 

They don't allow us to have signatures so this is the only way to feel unique for ppl. Let it be :(

I'm pretty sure people do know my avatar and stuff, but I sometimes can take CrazyIcicle as Roby...
And I'm unique this way, we seriously need a signature back D:
