Should I get TF2? (Team Fortress 2).
It seems really fun and my friends are asking me to get it on steam as well. -_-
If so, why and how much does it cost?

If you got a little money, also try Left 4 Dead. The original might suit your "dark and ominous" theme, while the second one is just fun.

Ok. This should help.

Team Fortress 2 (TF2) is 99% free to play, depending on how you play it. In the game, there is a drop system. This randomly gives the player 1 weapon or hat. In your first days of playing you will notice you get a fair lot of items and can be duplicates at times. You should try the weapons to see which one suits you the best.

Now, there are 9 classes in the game. Scout, Soldier, Pyro, Demoman, Heavy, Engineer, Medic, Sniper and Spy. Each of the classes are placed in 'positions'. Offence, defence and support. The classes above are in game order, and there are 3 classes in each position. Now this doesn't mean you HAVE to follow them. You can use them in any way.

Within the game, there is a trading system. This allows you to trade for other items. In TF2, there is something like a currency system. Using crafted metal. There are 3 types of metal. Scrap, reclaimed and refined. With scrap being lowest in the currency. Then there is the complicated part. Every price is based around 1 refined metal. Scrap is 0.11 out of 1, reclaimed is 0.33 out of 1 then refined is 1 out of 1. It takes 2 weapons of the same class to make 1 scrap, then 3 scrap to make 1 reclaimed and 3 reclaimed to make 1 refined. But be careful in the process. If you were to use the Sandvich (Heavy milestone 1 weapon) and another random heavy weapon, it would say that the scrap would be unable to be traded. You can't reverse scrap, but you can reverse reclaimed to scrap and so on. There are scammers, so be careful.

Finally, Mann vs Machine. This is a mode that is incredibly hard to complete. It costs £0.59 for a Tour of Duty ticket to play on an official server which gives you loot. You otherwise play on a non-official server.
