I just wanna hear your consent. Would an American cartoon that is influenced by anime technically count as anime, or just a cartoon?
IMO, yes. Look at the Boondocks, the guy who made it was American. Not to mention the word anime is just Japanese for animation (all animations general).
I have to admit, Animes are kind of stupid, but that is my opinion on them. I do not like the Japanese animation
Most animes, I must say, aren't my cup of tea, but the American influence on some turn out to be not that bad at all, surprisingly.
American style cartoons are more silly and all for laughs. Japanese cartoons can consist of drama, tragedy, future, and all different kinds of stuff. They usually have a few funny animes or a few funny scenes whereas in American cartoons everyone is cracking jokes and making a fool of themselves in every single scene. They are different.
A few. Maybe a lot but IDK really. The ones I've watched are all pretty serious except for Soul Eater which still creeps me out. I can't really watch a lot of anime because my mom (who is Japanese) tells me not to watch it. I think she thinks it can be too inappropriate at times (which it is).
