The New Dating Site.

First, SAO is an Anime, a lot can happen in an Anime xD
Second, in Minecraft you can tell everyone you're a girl, have a pretty girl skin and date someone and at the end he realises you're a 40 years old man. In SAO, people look like they look like in real life, so it's basically real life inside a video game. What I'm trying to say is, Minecraft love is not related to SAO love in any way :P

I personally don't get dating through a video game. Yes, I have a crush on someone from the server (he knows who he is) but I prefer having a crush/boyfriend in real life, that I can actually hang out with and stuff rather than have a crush that lives in a different country that all I can do with is playing video games/skyping :b

This reminds me so much of HABBO, that one social game xD. I seriously had over 6+ girlfriends at the same time who I didn't know anything about and we 'dated'. One day there was a huge fight between 4 of them like, "Who da faq is dat gurl" and it was really, REALLY amusing

Okay, putting my stupid posts aside, here's my actual opinion regarding the matter.
It is the natural human instinct to actually search for love. It has been an instinct since the beginning of our evolution. As more and more of the world becomes online, it isn't surprising to see people dating through it. Heck, in fifty years jobs might be virtual reality, like SAO. In centuries, we might just turn into the Matrix and LIVE in said realities, but that's another story.
I'm also going to say that I've been with the community for a while. And I haven't JUST kept in touch with them through the forums. I used to think forums relationships were bs too... Until I had half the community on Skype and I understood why. You really make some good friends in the community.
I can understand why someone would want to date someone else. I've liked one or two people myself on the forums, for that matter. You really start to get to know people well on the forums, and like I said before, especially if you keep in touch with them using an alternative method. And hey, especially if you live close to the person, then why not?
And trust me, if you get to know someone you will learn that they really aren't a 70 year old man. Trust me on that regard. I've made some really amazing friends on the forums, and I can guarantee that none of them are like that.
Trust me, it isn't as bad as it seems, people.

 

But zats the thing.
If you get to know someone well enough, they aren't a random stranger anymore.
Okay, online dating websites are dumb. THAT'S random strangers for you.
But this is different.
Trust me, I know most of my Skype friends well enough, for example, to confirm that they aren't strangers.

 

I personally don't mind internet relationships (since I've had one of my own).

TBH, on the internet I find more people, and better people. For example, I kinda like this guy. Nobody in my school is like him. He's funny, weird, and just plain stupid sometimes. *yu mite kno whu u r* All the guys in my school are either taken, or jerks. (At least that are in my classes). Internet has many good things about it, especially in the love area. c: #kthxbai

I don't really hate online relationships, since I can never have one I don't really care about romance. I'm speaking from the amount of heartbreaks happening all around me.
In other words, I'm fine as long as you don't get me into a mess if you ever have one.

I don't think online relationships are a bad thing, people can love each other. You can find a lot of people online, and meet a lot of friends.
Meeting friends online is easier then meeting them in real life.
BUT, as everyone said. You can't really know who are you talking to unless you met him IRL, which can be dangerous.
