Why?

Just out of of curiosity why did the server change to 1.7.2 at THIS time because unless you probably have a new computer there is going to be a LOT of lag. Unless there is a way you know how to make me play 1.7.2 on my 1.6.4 optifine I would just like to know why the j&h server changed to 1.7.2

That was their decision to update it to 1.7.2, I can't even log in.

Because servers usually want to be updated to the latest version of MC (unless the latest version is REALLY glitchy/laggy) and J&H are finally ready to do that. And I think the server supports both 1.6 and 1.7, but I'm not sure.

 

Yeah but this just produces more lag since most of the mods that help your lag issues by decreasing it haven't came out yet and knowing that they aren't out yet means people who usually have those mods are going to be complaining 1/2 of the time because of how much lag there is when they usually have a super fast computer.

 

Give those coders time, 1.7 is basically new everything, so the coders need to write everything from scratch.

 

I really don't agree with updating the server, as it already has caused confusion with players unable to place certain blocks.

Checking Pyro's creative bug thread already has told us that the server ain't really 1.7, since you couldn't even place most of the blocks newly implemented.

Dude im giving them time, this is a complaint why they updated the server because I can list at least 10 reasons why they shouldn't have updated it.

 

List 'em.

 

1.it causes lag
2.people will complain
3.None of the mods that decrease lag are out
4.It causes a LOT of bugs
5.It takes a servers members away because there is so much lag
6.It's almost unplayable without the mods
7.It causes confusion
8.It makes server(s) un-professional with all the lag
9.Some of the games either require a mod or computer to play on them or its just hard to play
10. It would create spam on forum(s)

I don't like all of these new changes to the game. They're OK, but they're not really Minecraft.

 

1: I haven't been lagging. If it is server lag, then it's your router. If it's FPS lag, it's your computer, clean it out
2: So far you are the only one complained
3: Again, the modification coders are in a whole new plain of minecraft coding, they need to start everything from scratch
4: Bugs are everywhere, updates take many out, while bringing in new ones, it is happening on every server with unique items
5: If they can't get on because of their laggy computers, that is their fault.
6: For few it is.
7: No, it says in big letters of the server list, "UPDATED TO 1.7"
8: Not updating would've made us even more unprofessional
9: Then don't play them
10: You're the only one complaining here

Honestly, deal with it or just leave, because the last thing we need are people hating on the Administrator's decisions.

 

Actually, there were more complaints when the server was still 1.6.4.

If you have trouble with lag issues, go to your options -> Turn your "Chunks Loaded" Lower down.

Options -> Video Settings -> Graphics= Fast
Performance= Max FPS
View Bobbing= Off
Clouds= Off

That should solve your problems.

Complain about it now, but you should be glad that they took the time out of their lives to update the server, if they didn't sooner or later Optifine for 1.7 would release and then you would start complaining again.

Just be glad they did it, and give the mod coders some time.

here was the major reason on why they updated, under my estimation.

Everyone was whining about it, and pretty much kept asking on when the server would update.

Don't worry, I lag even though I turned all my settings to the lowest rate.

And I mean, everything.

Firstly, don't use the word "retarded" as a derogatory term.
Secondly, quit whining. They did it, they won't undo the hard work that has been done, and complaining about it will just make it worse.
You should just be grateful that they did it now, or you would be complaining a month later on why it hasn't updated yet.

 

Again i'm giving coders their time i asked why did they update the server, Yes I did do all of those and I admit it helps but no I would not complain when the optifine for 1.7.2 would come out, I would more likely shut-up. If this thread makes anymore spam then what has already been spam then I am closing the thread because now some of you are just flaming at me
