Selfies for avatars?

Am I the only one who has a picture of themselves for their avatar? :/

 

I dun think a lot of people on the forums are very comfortable showing their face
me included
so you and a few others probably

 

But why?

 

Sometimes people use the internet as an escape
an escape from their life
maybe because they are judged because of weight or attractive they look
and they dun want to be judged on how they look on the internet because then there's nowhere to escape to...

 

*I'm not trying to be mean or anything, this is what I think*

This isn't Facebook, it's a community for Minecrafters and IJAH fans.
Adding to what Gooby said: if you don't put a picture of yourself, people will judge you by the stuff you write, not by how you look like. I'm sure that if everyone put their faces as profile pictures, people will start judging each other by looks only...

 

I think it's stupid when people judge other people for the way they look :/ I used to be unattractive back in middle school but high school does good things to you

 

I wish people wouldn't be so judge mental :/ I am against any form of bullying so I totally understand

 

Ye Well that's society, if you aren't good enough you will be thrown under the bus, and or judged
Whether it be by the clothes you wear or how you look.

 

I usually just ignore it when people make fun of me even though sometimes it used to be the whole school

 

Sometimes you just can't ignore the judgements
and people take it too far
and that's when people start to cut or commit suicide...
