What's your j and h story

How did you find the server? What did you used to do and what do you do now? Friends? Exciting moments?

I first joined the server in April of 2015. Playing any random games to be honest. Such as herobrines chamber and skyblock. I loved skyblock back then but I could never get anything and used to do stupid things to get money, slowly after I transitioned to creative, oh I should add I first joined skyblock when it had 3 servers, before it made the other 2. I moved to creative during the peak of the role playing era. When role plays, skin comps, headshops and God items all still existed. It was a fun game to play. This was 2015-early 2017. Then it kind of just. Died. For a lot of 2017 I didn't have much to do in the server. I loved creative but everyone had left, I tried other games but nothing was fun at that time. And then, it happened. In my opinion the best year for the server. 2018. It was the year the server really accepted it was dying and everyone just had a blast. It was so fun to play on creative and just make old skin comps or huge buildings, and for the first time in my experience I really became close with a lot of the staff team that played on creative. I say close, it wasn't really that close but it was also not like you were scared to breathe wrong and they'd ban you. After this there was the creative reset and the same thing happened. People left. Me? Nahhh, I joined the server just before it was gonna reset creative. I nabbed a plot near spawn and registered it. I got the first registered plot on creative, I got a plot fairly close to spawn and a lot more also. That plot now has a town on it. Its completely full though, much like a lot of my plots. Then it got boring for me because it was empty. So I left creative for a while and played other games. Factions, skyblock, farmking. My favourites were skyblock and farmking. My farm was really good and still is now. And skyblock was also amazing, I played for a little while and got quite rich and had a blast, until I had all my spawners stolen. I had nothing so I just cooped everyone who was on my island and gave my island away. I had quit. Then I was kinda homeless again for a while. But I fame back about June 2019. And made a bigger, better, nicer island and helped a lot of people with money and blocks. Gave away loads and now have an island that looks beautiful I think. I kinda eased off skyblock about February this year and moved back to creative. I got some more plots and some great builds. Although world edit completely destroyed 2 of my plots. I also played a lot of spleef and got to 420 wins.

So here I am now. Lots of nice plots on creative, a nice island on skyblock, successful farm and 420 wins on spleef. Also managed to get friends, somehow. I love them all and they know who they are <3

Now it's your go. What's your story?

 

It's safe to say that this is/was the first and only server I have ever really settled on and really gotten to know a lot of the people in the community. I first joined this server when I was about 11-12 years old around late 2013/early 2014.

I had found this server because I used to play with a group of my closest school friends at the time and two of them had found this server and created an island on Skyblock 3, where another friend and I had went through all of our frequently visited servers at the time to find them. They had just been AFK on their island and when they finally came back they added us to their island and we started expanding. Since we had just joined, that's all I did: play on Skyblock 3 and expand our island while creating little shops where we would ask people to tp to us so we could get money to expand.

Eventually my irl friends and I had created islands on all of the skyblocks (1, 2, 3) and I got [Herobrine] maybe a few months after I had joined and dedicated nearly all of my time on here. I started to play on different games within this server though, for a short while I used to play a lot of OITC where I was decent, as well as Survival Games (2014-2016). My computer actually broke down for nearly a year I think so I wasn't able to play, but I used to just join Skype calls with all my friends and listen to them play. High school also was just starting for me in 2016, so I wasn't able to play as much as I wanted to. I think the last time I became really active again after I had left was maybe around 2017?? Maybe 2018 summer ish? I played more factions at the time because Skyblock had started to die down and a lot of the friends I had made on here started to leave.

But because I got that rank of Herobrine, I started to get noticed by a lot of other people who I often saw on Skyblock 3 and I soon became friends with many amazing people who I'm so glad I met because they influenced those few years from my childhood that sort of made me the person I am today.

I also met my life-long best friend on Skyblock 3 soon after a few months of playing on here when she was advertising her tiny island shop, and we tped to each others' island to see each others' shops and soon after we called (though of course we lied about our ages and etc. for privacy reasons). We both live in California, though she lives in Southern and I live in Northern, about 6-7 hours away from each other. In the summer of 2017, we got to meet in my hometown for the very first time where she stayed about a week and we often went to the Bay Area to hang out. Our friendship has only grown stronger from there even though we did have a short falling out, we came back appreciating each other even more. Now, every summer, I try to go down to Southern California to hang out with her. I think we've hung out maybe a total of 5-6 times since we first met in person when we were 14 (we knew each other for around 2 years before we actually met up). I actually saw her back in March a few months ago and we got to have a sleepover before the Stay at Home order was issued in LA county. Anyways, if anything came out of me joining this server that I am EXTREMELY grateful for, it's that I met her (not to say I'm not appreciative of all the other people I met because of course I am, I would name them all but that would be a super long list to be honest, so let's just say, you know who you are if you come across this story and I miss a lot of you so pls hit me up :) ).

I haven't been active at all to be honest since 2018 because at the end of the 2017 I had actually gotten into my first serious relationship irl and so I kind of spent all my time invested in it as well as focusing on school and sports, but since we're in quarantine now and that I have graduated high school (literally yesterday), I have lots of time to just chill and come back. I'm kind of sad to see that a lot of the people I've gotten to know have left, but I can't really blame them because life goes on and I even had left for a while. I'm just beyond grateful I got to meet all of the people I did at the time and that even a majority of you acknowledged me and didn't mind hanging out with my little pre-teen self.

I guess that sort of brings us back to now though I do I wish I could share all of my little exciting stories and memories I've made from the past 6 years, I've written too much haha. I've been lingering around the forums because my goal is to reach 1000 messages so I can finally reach 113 trophy points. I didn't go too much into my Skyblock islands, but they were all pretty big and I pretty much accomplished everything on them but I know the servers got restarted so I lost everything oopsies heh.. Since I found my laptop again I can actually play minecraft (I had been writing from my phone), so if anybody yk maybe wants to play hmu pls, I'll probably just play some minigames or roam around skyblock .

I'll wrap it up here, thanks for letting me share my little story, especially if you read it all too I know it was a lot, but it was great to sort of re-live through these memories. :))

I think I joined when the server was 3 weeks old or so, so I have been here a while.

This sounds super cocky but ask me my favorite moments on topics, if I start writing by myself then I won't think of any of the good ones.
Keep in mind for the newer people, I was part of the yt channel, went from co-owner to all the other staff ranks you can think of and helped out with the server for several years. Being (imo) on the forefront of many things because I no-lived the fuck out back then.
I've seen the rise and fall

The one thing I can tell which still brings a smile to my face because of how great it all unfolded in my favor is how I got my first MOD rank.
Back when I joined, anti-cheat was shit. And I used fly and speedwalk hacks to get as far away as possible from everyone and built a base.
I used xray to find my diamonds because I was too lazy to go and actually find them myself. So I had this nice house, surrounded by a wall and another part where I had my farms and shit. Life was good, until one day I login and I see a sign above my chest saying something like
''I took away your diamonds, don't xray next time -Hai'' (Hai being WhatTheHai, former admin)
And I was like ''ah shit, fuck this'' and gave up on the server. But I wanted to go out with a bang, so I decided to gear up on griefing materials and grief as many factions as possible before I could get banned. I don't remember this part fully but, somehow (I think bobmarely_xD gave it) I get a wood pickaxe with lv 9999 enchants on everything. So now when I kill a creeper I get a full stack of gunpowder, aka I have unlimited access to TNT which just makes it easier to grief later on. epic!!
So after having chests filled with tnt and lava I decide that this is the day to grief, only to see an announcement in the server chat about the newly open Teamspeak server. I had teamspeak but never used it, so I decided that this was a good opportunity to try it out. Upon entering it I was greeted by day-care sounds and also to the two owners Jerry ''ItsJerry'' Dicknone and Harry ''ItsHarryd'' Dickgone.
So I did the unthinkable and told them, hello. Which ItsJerry immediately was surprised because, I was legit the only regular player that joined the channel that didn't sound like a baby soundboard. So Jerry did the most logical thing and asked me if I wanted to be a mod on the server and I said sure. What Jerry didn't notice though is that WhatTheHai was telling him not too since I had used cheats before, but the baby voices of the other teamspeak members were louder than hai's warning and I got mod anyways.

I decided that having mod was going to make it even easier to grief the server and that I would do it at a later day so it wasn't too obvious.
But then Jerry asked me if I wanted to help them make a video and I agreed, when I agreed Jerry yeeted bob out and replaced me with him and before you know it I spent most of my free time helping them out with the server and video's.
Before I became this dumb ass shit poster on the forums I was very dedicated to this server and their Youtube channel.
Those were legit some of the better years of my life, I always look back upon them with joy.

anyways ask me any experience, I missed some major ones but other than that I've been there and done that.

I started by watching their YouTube videos, I liked FartLands and the Parkour/Dropper challenges so I decided to join the server on my mom's old ass cheap ass used ass MacBook, on my brother's account.
We fought over who got to play on Minecraft and we had a parental controls option where we could only play for an hour or so. (My mom said if I signed up for French immersion she would give me another hour on Minecraft so I obviously said yes)
Anyways, I kept playing and met some good friends who I still speak to today, I made my own Minecraft account and then J joined the forums and I haven't left since (though I did take a few breaks).
The only friends I still talk to on a daily basis are people from IJAH. It doesn't make sense to me how this community is so great, how these people have stuck with me for 5+ years. I have several memories on this server and I think that is p kewl.

Ok lol this is all I can remember:

December of 2014, I was an avid MC player and was looking for a cool new server to play on. I forget how I exactly stumbled onto IJAH but this was not my first time on; I have faint memories of playing a few HC games before this time but December of 2014 was really when I started getting into it. I instantly migrated to the Creative server and made it my new home. I saw these things called roleplays, and I had done a few of them in the past, so seeing how popular they were with all the advertisements, I decided to give them a shot. That's when I really fell in love with them, and all I can remember is for the next few months is constantly participating in these, having a blast while doing so. Eventually I even made a few of them later on. Anywho, this lasted up until the summer of 2015, and by this point I was slowly and slowly getting more popular in Creative. I also was a 13 year old kid who was set to turn 14 in August of that year, so I was quite immature.

Immaturity goes well with stupidity, and I got myself warned for openly talking about a little 'bathroom' stall I made where I wanted to roleplay with one of my buddies them giving birth in. I got warned, so I got mad, and I got warned some more. This led me to my little small war against MappyTurtle until I finally realized I fucked up in the end. One of my most memorable memories is staying up late one night with this guy named Zeeborg, who also hated Mappy at the time. I remember being in a TS call with them, arguing whether or not she had a vendetta against the both of us. Honestly, Zee was not the best person to be hanging out with because of some of the things he said/built back then, looking on that time now. But I was a kid and didn't know any better; I was just happy to see someone hate this same staff member that I did.

After the Mappy incident, if memory serves correct, I made progress to change my ways. I wanted to mature, and this was before I even thought of applying for staff. Anyhow, I think it was February of the next year when I applied, and this was around the time I started having a rough time with my mental health. I can say that I honestly took some things seriously on here; applying for staff made me mature much faster than I was ready, and I was always sucking up, trying to horde reports, all that stuff. There were some arguments I got on here that did nothing good for my mental well being. It got to a point, and I remember this and think it's honestly hilarious now because of who it was, but I can't recall the exact thread but Ezzerland responded to a comment of mine and I took it seriously as him like, putting me down or some stuff. So I decided to mute all my alerts and that lasted practically a few months. I thought of myself as addicted to them and wanted a way to try to pull myself away for a time being because I saw how serious I was taking this place, to a point it was actively affecting my mental health in a negative way.

I was getting impatient with my staff application and considered closing it many times because I thought it was unfair how I was being treated. I completely changed who I was on the server and thought I deserved the rank. Eventually, though, my wishes came true and late August right around my birthday, NESLover responded to my application asking to interview me. This was hella awkward and the worst timing because at the time I was on vacation with my family down the beach. So, for the whole week, I practically ignored everyone by being on my phone at all times when I didn't have access to my laptop. The interview was stressful, as I never did something of the sorts before then. But, a few days later, after getting back from the sandy beach and taking a shower in our house, I checked the forums on my phone and instantly saw all these notifications from profile posts on my profile. And that was when I freaked out and learned I had been accepted as a staff member.

I was a helper for a few months, instantly being thrown into things and it didn't take long for me to want Mod. So, back then there was thing thing called staff reports (may or may not still be a thing, unsure) but helpers could record hackers and make their own reports in a staff only forum. I downloaded Bandicam and found it really easy to use, so I spent a lot of my time recording the obvious hackers, guys such as bhoppers and headsnappers. I eventually got Mod on November 19th.

My next promotion wouldn't come until July of the next year, but by atleast halfway to that point I was mega desperate for Mod+. I thought I was putting in great work on the server as a mod with my duties and was heavily saddened by seeing people be promoted right before my eyes. There was a time I even considered resigning, but I remember having a talk with Ezzerland right before my Mod+ promotion about all my feelings and he was such a help in keeping me going. Turns out that was right around the time I got Mod+, and for the next 1 3/4 years, I'd be staffing the server as one of the more higher up ranks.

Nothing too memorable happened in that timespan. Eventually, with the server's population dwindling, less things to do, and an overall interest in Minecraft slowly dying, I grew inactive. On my final few months as staff I didn't log in as much as I used to, to the server. I was slowly getting out of touch with how things were working and I contemplated resigning many times until I finally pulled the trigger on June 22nd (after I got home from work, I believe). It was hard because I was leaving this team I was apart of for 2 3/4 years, leaving people I had come to befriend. I've said it many times but being a staff member provided a great outlet for discussion and hanging out with people I considered friends on the team, and I willingly gave it up because I saw myself unfit for the rank as a staff member because of all these circumstances.

And that's that. I went inactive, barely going on the server but checking in on the forums every so often, and that's basically been my life here ever since.

tbh i didnt even play minecraft or want to get it but my irl best friend forced me and my dad to get it in a sense

i was online trying to find servers to play on and i found this server on a server list. i recognized the name from previous youtube videos i had watched and was excited to join. i hopped on and joined the lobby and tried to make friends (lol) but it was hard for 11 year old me to do so when everyone was all big and mighty with their ranks and friend groups :( so i went to spleef, found my community, and my first minecraft boyfriend with the literal username "ChrisButtFuck". he bought me donator rank and it made making friends easier LOL

then flashforward like a year where my sweet sweet friend mats bought me vip rank

then flashforward to a couple years later when my ex minecraft boyfriend olle swedish who also happens to be a sex offender apparently () bought me premium and legend B)

now flashforward to today when ive met like 5 of my friends from this server irl and ran into someone from this server at an ikea (i ran and hid pls) and i love them to death and i cant wait to meet more and ive been here for 8 years somehow but i have no shame

long story short i bought minecraft in 2013 and literally joined the first server that i saw on sky does minecraft's youtube channel (i think it was either sumo or buildit) and forced @JokerBen to come and play with me on here

then i met this kid named lolingguy13 and his popular friends and became popular (and so did ben)

then like 3 years later i became helper, then mod, then i left, then after a while i became a helper again, then mod, and then i left again, then after a while i became a helper again, then mod, and then i left again, and then after a while i became a helper again, and then I got mod, and now I left again!

but i think the true journey was the friends i made along the way, so if ur friends with me now, i'm sorry

 

I was really good friends with this girl who went to the same after-school program as me and she would tell me about this Minecraft server that was super fun to play and make friends on every day. I didn't even have Minecraft at the time but me being in the fifth grade and wanting to relate to someone older than me, I got fomo. She told me she wanted to play with me, so I bought MC February of 2014 and started playing on this server the same day I got it and the rest is history. I never played on the server with her even though she was the sole reason I spent my mother's $27 and I'm not sure where she is now but hey if you're out there, Karen, thanks.

Anyways I went through different stages of friend groups, from 2014-mid 2015 being the people in Creative 1. Ah what a time, roleplaying, skin competitions, god items. Everyone who used to be with me during that time period fell of the face of the earth however some of them recently resurfaced and it was fun to catch up. Nevertheless I only consistently talk to two of the people from then, one of them still being a really close friend of mine.

Now we have my friend groups from mid 2015-now. I had two and only one of them have stayed consistent. Out of the four people in the inconsistent one I still talk to one of them on and off, two of them pretty infrequently, and one not at all because she's not a good person. I'll never forget the other three though, they got me through some shit.

Now the ones that never left I am forever grateful for. The list is long and unimportant (as it is in my info page anyway) but I have never experienced more laughs and good times than with these people. We have watched each other grow, and some of us have even met in person which is so surreal to me. I may even be going to college with one of them. I still talk to my best friends daily, and even the ones that aren't as daily I love them equally as much.

I owe so much of my character development to this server and the people I've met in the last six years of my life. I joined when I was ten years old pretending to be thirteen, and now I'm sixteen preparing to start doing college applications. The people I've met, and continue to meet have changed me for the better. I'm not sure how I befriended anybody when I was always the youngest and most annoying out of all of the people in my friend groups but I thank all of them for taking a chance on me and helping me work on myself. I forever love all of you.

Thank you Jerry and Harry for introducing me to my life-long friends. I cannot express how grateful I am.

Sorry for how long this is, my friends know I'm a sucker for nostalgia.

 

I first joined the server around late 2013 or early 2014 because a friend irl asked me to play with her. I started playing on creative when head shops, god items, skin comps, and roleplays were a thing. I also played other games such as sg, build battle, oitc, spleef, hc, and parkour and started making a lot of friends on the server but after a while, they all started to leave and I got bored of creative so I tried factions. I'm not sure what year it was in but I started playing halfway through season 2 of factions.

It wasn't until season 3 of factions when I started making really good friends, some who I still talk to every day to this day. After playing a few seasons of factions I got really bored because a lot of my friends had quit and I wasn't playing with the same people who made me enjoy it anymore as we were now in different factions and not really talking so I decided to leave too.

After 5 months I came back because one of my friends told me that factions had just restarted and I was in quarantine anyway so I decided to give it another go. After it died within a week I started going to the hub and playing minigames and going back on creative I started making some new friends.

Now after 7 years of being on this server I've made so many friends and a lot of my best friends now are people that I've met on here. I have a lot of really good friends and memories on this server and so many people I've met here have stuck with me for so many years. I honestly wouldn't be who I am today without the people that I've met on this server. The people who remain my friends continue to make me a better and happier person every day. So I have to thank Jerry and Harry for helping me find some amazing long-life friends. I will forever love all the friends that I've made on here.
